BabyUniverse customer reviews of the Baby Trend Sit N Stand December 25, 2006 Reviewer:  OMCV "OMCV" (CA USA)  See all my reviews >

perfect double stroller solution written by Anonymous in Riverside, CA on 11/15
I bought this double stoller for my infant and 3 year old. I wanted the sit-n-stand stroller for my older child, but I know that he often likes to sit down, recline, and rest (especially at amusement parks or long outings). With the regular sit-n-stand we would have to hold our infant son while my older son took a rest. But not now. I love my new sit-n-stand Plus stroller. This stroller has a removable back seat. It is very easy to remove and can be stored in the basket underneath. So if my son wants to sit or stand like the regular sit-n-stand strollers he has that option. But when we have long outings I can simply put in the seat and he is able to recline and relax. Major stores DO NOT carry this stroller yet. But it was the best purchase ever. My graco carseat snaps into the front and my son fits in the back. Here are 2 drawbacks I've found. First, the backseat doesn't leave a lot of leg room- but I found we can unsnap the foot portion and my son's long legs fit fine (although they are in the storage basket. Second, the storage area is hard to reach with the second seat attached. However, as with my first drawback, the feet section can be unsnapped and I can reach the storage basket.

I've found that no double stroller is perfect at all, but this stroller is the best one I've found. It's easy to control and a definate step-up from the regular sit-n-stand. And worth the extra money. We have found it to be a life saver. This stroller will fit the needs of your children as they grow up.

DUOGLIDER VERSUS SIT N STAND DELUXE February 12, 2007 Reviewer:  mommy d (san ramon, ca)  See all my reviews >

I ordered both the duoglider lxi in samba (from babycenter) and the babytrend sitNstand plus. I did a side by side comparison and found that the duoglider lxi worked better for us. The graco has a tray for the rear seat (which is important for my both my kids), and the rear seat reclines all the way down. The Babytrend seats don't recline very much. I also noticed the front seat of the graco reclines more than the babytrend one. The graco basket is much bigger and easier to get to. Oh, and the graco seems a little smoother/easier to maneuver--just my opinion.
Of course the biggest plus for the babytrend is that the rear converts to a bench/stand. Its not too hard to remove the rear seat. Also, the babytrend has wider seats (maybe about .5 to 1" wider). The babytrend's front tray was easier to swivel up and I liked that there were two parent cupholders. They both seemed equal in comfortability.
Hope this helps! btw, my kids are 9 months (boy) and 2yrs5mos (girl).

Dangerous! Please read February 10, 2009 Reviewer:  Turksmom (Hbg., PA, USA)  See all my reviews >

I own an older model of this stroller. Other than being a bit heavy, I loved it. Recently I was walking my kids and hit a ridge in the sidewalk. Both children are under the suggested weight limits and were properly seated. I was walking at an average pace and the ridge was no more than .5 inch. Both front wheels broke off the stroller. The plastic that attaches to the metal frame broke and the stroller collapsed rather violently. They did not detach, the plastic actually broke. fortunately I had the front foot rest extended all the way upwards (my daughter is a shoe thrower)or both of her legs would have been broken or worse. I emailed the pictures to Baby Trend and offered to send the stroller to them so they could inspect what may have caused this rather serious incident. The response I got was that they only warrant their strollers for 6 months, it is not a repair that can be done by the consumer and they don't have the part to repair it at the factory either! I was more concerned about the safety of the product than the repair, but this made me aware that if you purchase a Baby Trend product and something goes wrong, you should be prepared to replace it rather than repair.

Great Stroller! July 30, 2008 Reviewer:  Mommy of 2 "Glad to have found this one!" (Minnesota)  See all my reviews >

My son is 17 mo. and I am due with our newest baby in September. I purchased this stroller after MUCH research. I have literally been to 10+ web sites, consumer reports, and multiple stores to check out every kind of double stroller there is...and this is one of the best options. So many sit and stand strollers are more for people who have a 3 year old and a baby. My son naps a lot in strollers...so the sit and stand was not a good option; however, with this stroller it will grow with him...which is fantastic! In response to the comment that it was to big and she had to clear out her van...good luck with any double stroller then, other than maybe the Joovy Caboose sit and stand stroller (which is only as long as a normal 1 baby stroller; however, this Baby Trend one is only another 5 inches beyond that. Most double strollers that have 2 seats are almost double in length as well). Plus, vans don't have a ton of storage space in the back as it is...so any double stroller is going to be tough. It will be the same with some SUV's because of the room they have allowed for the seating. My husband is lead painter in a body shop and has commented that vans, many SUV's and even the Tahoo's with the 3rd seat are good for one stroller...but a double will be tight because they were designed to hall PEOPLE...not STUFF. It's just how the vehicle is made, not the fault of the stroller. This is actually one of the lighter and smaller ones on the market. I tested others that had two full seats and I felt like I was driving a bus! I am a mom on the go and this is perfect. I cannot say enough about this one! The price is perfect, it's not HUGE, it's not to heavy, has ample storage, cup holders and converts to grow with your child. For anyone out there who is as frustrated trying to find "the one" as I was...this is a keeper!

I love this stroller! September 6, 2008 Reviewer:  Michelle (Utah)  See all my reviews >

I had a Babytrend travel system that was okay, but it was difficult to use. In this model they fixed all the things that were difficult in their travel system. It is extremely easy to use. Easy to put together, easy to fold and unfold, easy to get the trays and sun shades on and off. It works great! It fits my infant car set in the back (even though the directions say not to, I can fit it quite securely) so my toddler can sit in the front and see everything that is going on. I haven't used the sit 'n' stand feature because my son is too little, but I like having the option--it will make the stroller useable longer. It isn't any bulkier than my travel system when it is folded up, and is as compact as a double stroller can get. It was definitely worth the money and I highly recommend it.

It works with our Britax Companion! April 18, 2009 Reviewer:  Exercise Momma See all my reviews >

Since Britax has discontinued it's Companion line, this may not be all that useful for many people, but we were almost turned away from buying this stroller because we kept reading reviews that it would only take Baby Trend car seats. The key if you try it out with your infant carrier in a department store is to tip down the tray (press the red buttons on each side). You can put the infant carrier in the front or the back (or two carriers if you have twins).

We went with this one for two reasons:
1) We have a 15 month old who is too young for the sit and stand yet, but will be able to use that feature later.
2) This one was the only affordable stroller that would take our infant carrier (without an adapter, I would add)

LOVE THIS STROLLER !!! April 30, 2009 Reviewer:  *Proud mommy of 2 girls * See all my reviews >

This stroller is great! I searched EVERYWHERE for an affordable/convertable stroller & this is by far the best one & the cheapest! It was fairly easy to put together. I have used it about 10-15 times already w/my 2 1/2 year old & my 5 week old. my older daughter fits really well in the back( although her feet sometimes go under the front seat it doesn't seem to bother her) & my baby fits really well in the front in her carseat(which is a Saftey First brand). It looks adjustable enough to hold almost any brand.I have also used it w/ two toddlers (my daughter & a 2 year old I baby-sit for)& it works very well like that too. Also I've taken the back seat off just to test out the jump seat,& I think I'll like it when my daughter gets a little older(She seems a little too small right now). It also folds up fairly small for as big as it is(It just fits into the trunk of my parents neon)it is pretty easy to push,& I think it has a pretty big basket for storage, although I put my diaper bag on the foot rest in the back that goes w/ the jump seat. The only thing I would change is I would like a cup holder in the back for my toddler, but other then that it's GREAT!...Sorry so long I just wanted to be specific b/c those reviews helped me the most!

Great value - minor problems May 21, 2009 Reviewer:  Sew Happy (NJ)  See all my reviews >

I have used this stroller for a year now. I have a 1 year old and a 2 1/2 year old. I have put approx 10 miles a week on it - you'll have to do the math to total that up but I know it's a lot of miles! Anyway, here's my take...

Good: price, ease of assembly, compact size when folded, relative weight, handling, ability to clean, overall comfort and ease of use

Bad: tires are starting to wear out, pretty hard to maneuver when the kids get bigger and weigh more, snack tray in front only, no space in basket underneath and when I do put things in there they make the basket rest against the front tires causing abrasion to the basket.

Overall: Great for the price. I don't know that there is really any better options as all the brands have their drawbacks.

[...] December 22, 2008 Reviewer:  Barbara G (Louisiana)  See all my reviews >

I have a 3 year old and a 7 month old. I have had this stroller and car seat since the birth of my second. I personally dont like it. The infant seat has to be in front with the infant facing you. The seat under the infant has to recline for room for the carseat to fit which gives the toddler no room! The toddler seat can come out so he/she can stand which doesnt work for me bc my toddler either wants to run around or sit. There is also a basket under the toddler's feet area so if you have anything in there it gets stepped on. I have a normal size diaper bag and there is nowhere for it. I would think other brand carseats would work but im not sure. I can say it is easy to move around for being a double stroller! Oh and the drink holders are so shallow my bottle of water always falls out.

Disappointed .. wish I could return July 13, 2007 Reviewer:  J. Rios Real Name See all my reviews >

I have a newborn and a 2 year old and so far have been disappointed with this stroller. I thought it would be the most versatile option but there are a few things that really bother me. The main thing is that the only way to put a small baby (one that can't sit up yet) in the stroller is in the car seat. My newborn gets really hot in his carrier so I was hoping to lay him down in the back seat and put my toddler up front, but the back seat doesn't recline enough for the baby. When my toddler is in the back, the seat is too far reclined and he has very little leg room. I think the basket is hard to access even through the side opening and it keeps rubbing on the front wheels. It does fold up and steer easy enough although you have to set the brakes after folding it or it will fall over. Maybe this will suit us better when my toddler can use the jump seat and the baby can sit up (in which case we should have just bought the regular sit-n-stand), but right now I wish I would have gotten the Evenflo double stroller at [another retailer] that my babysitter has. The back seat completely reclines, it has a huge basket, and it just seems easier to get in and out of and use in general. This stroller seems like a good idea, but just doesn't live up to expectations.
