This piece was very promising. When we started assembling it was easy. Then we got to the doors and drawers. The pre-drilled holes weren't in line with the hinges or to fit the screws, our doors are crooked and when we tried adjusting it would scraped against the base of the buffet. Also one of our drawers has a nail sticking out. So it looks good on the outside but look closer and there are major flaws.

We have had this item for over a year now & it has held up wonderfully. We use it without the wine rack as an entertainment stand for our LCD TV and it works great, fits all our gaming systems and dvr perfectly. Great dark brown color as well. Not too bad to put together, bit it is a two person job.

I got this as a wedding gift and love it! It did take about 2.5 hours to put together and 2 people, but it is very sturdy and nice looking! I have gotten many compliments. Also has room to store other items you may not want to keep in a cupboard. Very nice. Love it!

I got this buffet at my local target store, for an excellent price. Upon lifting the box, (very heavy), I knew this was a quality piece of furniture. I found the assembly of this item very easy, with the use of an electric drill. In total it took me about 1 1/2 hrs. The instructions are easy to follow and the screws are divided into there own staged compartments so you don't have to go looking for them. I love the way it turned out; it is very sturdy and doesn't wobble at all and the pieces fit together perfectly!

We have had many compliments on this piece of furniture! It looks quite expensive but is very affordable. Very easy to assemble. The wine rack is optional and we decided not to install it-instead we placed some unique pottery on that side of the buffet and installed an adjustable spot light to highlight the artwork. Highly recommend this piece of furniture.

I read all the reviews and it took me 2 months before I finally broke down and bought it. It arrived in less than a week and I must say how impressed I was with the packaging. The wood on the top did have some minor flaws which looks like it was scratched prior to them applying the stain. The only real issue I had was with the bottom of the drawers. The wood there is so thin that during shipping the screws came out of the sliders and basically ripped the wood apart. I now have to replace the bottom of the drawers. The wood for the back of it is the same material. I was able to put this together myself in about 4 hours but I would certainly recommend getting someone to help. I had no problems with the pre-drilled holes and the directions were simple to follow.

i wasn't sure what we were getting ourselves into after reading all the previous reviews but it really is a nice piece of furniture.
yes, it takes a little while to put together but grab a partner and take your time. read the directions and pictures carefully and you should be good to go in a couple of hours.

I LOVE the look of this piece, but it was a bear to get together. We had to use a drill several times because holes were either too shallow or not there in the first place. If you have a drill already then I would say this is worth a shot. None of our pieces were seriously damaged - there were a few little spots on one of the drawers that didn't look perfect, but it isn't too noticeable. This wood does damage very easily though - while we were assembling this, our dog ran across one of the pieces and it made a huge scratch in it! Luckily it was the underside, so it wasn't a problem. Just be careful and hope that you get undamaged pieces. The box is VERY heavy, so plan on having help to move it around. We got it on clearance in the store so for the price we paid, we are happy!

Seems like people are having a lot of differing experiences with putting this piece together. I actually didn't think it was difficult at all; if you have another person to help you, it'll likely go much faster as well. The instructions were easy to follow, and I loved the way the hardware was packaged; it was portioned out by 'step' so you didn't have to count the pieces to make sure they were all there, or sort through a big pile of screws to find your pieces. Moving on... I ended up buying my cabinet in the store rather than online. The box is a bit heavy (I'd say you need two guys to carry it), and it's also a bit large, so you'll want to check the box dimensions to make sure it fits in the car. Although the box is large, one plus is that the bottom piece (w/the drawers) comes already assembled! I paid less than this published price in the store in Oct 08, but maybe the store price has gone up as well... However, I will say that I vigilantly looked at this cabinet online for at least a year and could never get a deal on shipping (shipping cost is high!), but it looks like they're offering it now, so I say if you can't find it in the store, definitely jump on this when shipping is free. One final note: I'm using this cabinet as a stand for my LCD TV. I put the cable box inside the cabinet & left off one of the cardboard panels in the back b/c of the cords. You can't see it, and it looks really chic. One final, final note: people are complaining that the glass says 'tempered.' You should be able to scrape that off w/a razor, but it;s so barely noticeable that it doesn't happen to bother me. BUY THIS PIECE.

The box Target sent to me was a customer return! There was one rail missing, but two men tried to work around this without the rail and tried putting it together for hours and hours (one man was an architect). Doors were especially hard to align and wouldn't shut...I may have to contact the store...diappointed. Hope we get this together. I'm not sure it's worth the aggravation and time and effort you have to put into it.
