Yes, it is VERY large. Probably not for a compact car. Actually it seems large in my Sububan, but this seat is something!
I've used alot of carseats in my life and this one takes the cake.
My 4 year old loves it! It is very comfortable for him and wider so he is'nt "squished". He calls it the big boy seat as his little brother's Marathon seat looks small in comparison.
I think this thing would survive a fall from an airplane.
Britax is an amazing carseat manufacturer.
If you have toddler and a large back seat and don't need to move it from one vehicle to another (as it is also very heavy), then this is the car seat for you. But don't plan on three of them side by side. Even in my full sized van, bench seats they would never fit. This seat takes alot of room but the quality of it is something to behold!

This is one of the few car seats that go up to 85 pounds. Most car seats only last till 55-65, then people us booster seats.
It allows you to keep your child in a 5 point harness longer, which is SAFER!

Please note: this is forward facing only- so over a year and 22 pounds. there are no height restrictions with this seat.

I wish I would have purchased this sooner! They are actually hard to find and sold out at alot of places, THank you Target for carrying this!

This seat is forward-facing only, it is NOT a convertible RF seat. Awesome seat, highest weight and strap level out there, but does NOT rear-face. Get it right, Target!

After much research on Britax's website, Target's site and others, I decided to purchase the Regent for my 4 year old daughter. I just didn't feel good about putting her in the flimsy booster seat with only the shoulder strap to protect her. I had been in a horrible accident years ago and know how violent and terrible accidents can be. The videos on other website really convinced me to keep her in the 5-pt. harness as long as possible.

Thankfully, there are options out there for those of us who want to keep our kids in the harness as long as possible...Graco just came out with one version which is half the price of the Regent, but I was really impressed by Britax's reputation for safety and all the testimonials. Plus, Britax looks nicer and girlier! :)

I admit, I balked at the price but I'd rather pay for this seat now then regret it later if we were in an accident!

I received the seat within a few days of ordering it from Target.com. It IS huge like everyone says... my husband jokes that it's as big as a recliner, and he wants to climb in it and sit there in the car! However, it fits in the back seat of our Town & Country just fine. I had some certified car seat firemen install it and they did not have a problem, even though the manual was not included by mistake. ( I called Britax and they are sending me a manual ).

I like this seat so far. It is big and plush and my daughter feels so special in it. I like the fact that it is huge because the more seat around a child, the better and safer, right?

I need to read the manual when it arrives so I can figure out all the bells and whistles of this seat. I do plan on ordering a Regent for my son when he is a little older. He is two now and I hope Britax comes out with some nice patterns for boys for the Regent like the other brand has.

I also considered the Britax's other product and had a hard time deciding which to get. I decided on the Regent because it had better reviews overall then the Frontier. One reviewer also mentioned that the shoulder strap slots are taller on the Regent so I took that into consideration also.

Lastly, I admit I liked the girly pattern of the Regent Madison and I knew my daughter would like it better for years to come.

I hope my Regent is never put to the test in a car accident but if it is, I am confident the Regent is the safest seat for my daughter. I plan on replacing my other two kids' car seats with Britax's when I can.

I have had this seat for almost a year for my daughter. She has special needs so she needed a seat that would give her good support. This chair gives her lots of room and support while in the car. She has been very comfy on long trips riding in it too. It is very big compared to other seats. I have an SUV and I am not sure that it would fit in a sedan. It is kinda heavy too. Overall, I couldn't ask for a better seat.

I bought this car seat because my daughter has outgrown her Britax Roundabout (which I love). I carefully researched which Britax car seat to get next, because I wanted to be sure it was the right one for her. I chose the Regent because of all the reviews and how incredibly safe they are. Most reviews did mention the size of it, stating that it is big, "but not that big." I took that into account, but I have a Caravan, so I figured it should be no problem at all to install. I was wrong. This is the biggest car seat I have ever seen! My son had an Eddie Bauer and this surpasses that one by far - as far as size goes. I could fit it in my Caravan, but the top of it rose well above the seat, so far, that I can't latch it. (According to the installation requirements, you must latch it at the top). It clearly takes up the entire seat (captains chair) and then some. It actually looks awkward. I unfortunately have to return it to Target (not only huge, but very heavy) and order her what I should have ordered in the first place, a Marathon.

While my daughter loves the roominess of this seat, it is so large and clumsy that it is next to impossible to move it between cars. I recommend that once you install it, you plan to leave it in that car full-time.
Also, there is this illogical stabilizing bar in the back of the seat that is not actually attached to the seat, so while trying to latch the seat in, you also have to position the bar.

I am so happy I purchased this seat, it is huge and accommodates my 3yr old that is 41 pounds and 40 inches. He has plenty of room and will grow into this seat for a long time. We moved from the Britax car seat as he was just so big but still wanted the safety of a Britax 5 point harness. This was a great transition and my son can climb right in like a real seat. Fits my mini van captain chair perfect and was so easy to install. For the price this was a great pick and very very happy my son is now comfy and safe. Thanks Target!!!

i bought this item on clearance since they were doing away with the pattern. my toddler refused to keep her straps on in her other seat and my best friend had this one for her son and she couldnt escape. i have to keep the straps pretty tight still but it works much better. it is huge and pretty heavy. if you have more than one carseat and a small car it isnt a good choice for you due to its size, we have an xl7 and it was a bit worried but it fits fine. my friend has a taurus and it only fits in the middle.
