Do not buy this item. I already have a dyson (large purple one)and love it to death!!! Thus, I figured that all their products lived up to the dyson name. This one does not. The suction is horrible...even got clogged the first day [...] up popcorn!!! Also, the size is rediculous!!! I'm only 5'2" and for me it's very tiny and hard to use. Also, the cord is way too short. The hose is so small that the entire unit bangs into the back of you legs while you are cleaning!! This product is worth about a standard price NO MORE!!! I am very dissapointed!!! When I read the other reviews, I figured these people hadn't use a dyson before. Well as I have stated above, I have and I love the full size;however, this product does not deserve the dyson name!!!DO NOT BUY!!!

For a small vacuum this little boy does it right. Had an Oreck for 10 years. Noticed it was not picking up all the lint or cat hair on the rug. Bought the DC24 and vacuumed with the Oreck and then revacuumed with the Dyson.I could not believe the amount of dirt that came off of my rugs! It was incredible. Works great on hard floors and it is very light and handles well. I wonder if the full size at 16 lbs works as well. Everyone that I have met that owns the Dyson brand swears by it. I am now a believer. With a 5 year warranty I guess Dyson stands by their product!

Not only is this small, compact vaccuum cute, but it has the suction behind it! My husband and I have brand new carpet in 4 of our bedrooms (a shorter shag carpet). We were told it should be vaccuumed at least twice a week for the first two months to get all the loose fibers out. After the fifth vaccuum there seemed to be only dirt and hair in the canister. We loved it so much that we took it to my husbands firestation to clean up. Not to our surprise, each bedroom more than filled the canister of dirt.

I have not had to untangle my roller brush like other people who wrote reviews, I made sure my husband and I fully read the instruction book before using our beloved vaccuum.

To make this vaccuum better, it goes from carpet to hardwood/tile flooring by pushing ONE button. I love that I do not have to turn off the Dyson to switch it back and forth between all my options.

I cannot say enough how much I love this vacuum. I expected it to be good for the money but it was worth every penny. I hated sweeping my bare wood floors all the time (they needed it constantly) and other vacuums never got all the dust and debris up. This vacuum looks like we sweep everyday. I can also do the baseboards and fans without making it an all day chore. 100% worth the money!

I bought the Dyson ball and the beater bar broke after two weeks. The parts are plastic and cheap. However, the suction was the best ever. For the money I felt they could have used higher quality of parts in making this vacuum.

I was a little disappointed when the vacuum arrived because it looked like all the other cheap vacuums that had failed me in the past. But the more I use it, the more I love it. After you get used to the way everything comes apart, it is so easy to use. The suction power is amazing. I have two dogs and I use this on hard floors and the dog stuff. It is amazing with the dog hair. I do not have any carpet so I can't comment on that. I love the design and the ease of using the attachments. The vacuum is easily maneuverable and light weight. I could only give 4 stars because I still think it is a bit pricey and I think you maybe paying about $100.00 just for the name... But as far as compact vacums go... this one is awesome.

When it is working, this dyson is wonderful - light weight - easy to use. However, mine has been in the shop for over 3 weeks now (9/26). First, we waited for a part from Canada, which did not fix it. Then, we waited for a part from Chicago which didn't fix it. Because I did not buy directly from dyson, it cannot be replaced - only repaired under warranty - even though I've only had it a couple months (minus the repair time). My only option is to send it back and have them repair it which will be another 2-1/2 to 3 weeks. Had it not been for the low supportability of this machine, I would have been delighted with it and recommended it to all. But buyer beware - if you get one and it needs repaired - be prepared to wait and wait and wait for someone to figure out what is wrong.

This is great! I intended to get the bigger model since those are the ones I read about most but my fiance suggested getting this one. It really does make the carpet look nice plus I swept my couch and don't normally do that and it really seemed to perk up too. When you think about it it has to collect dust just like the tables tops, etc. do. I got mine at another store, unfortunately after shopping around thinking I got the best buy but now Target is having a $40 gift card included which really makes it a great buy. It is light weight and not as bulky as some of the other models. I have a maltese dog and they don't really shed so I did not have a full canister of dirt after sweeping the carpets but it sure did pick up a lot that must have been missed by my previous sweeper. It is actually rather fun to use the way it twists and turns around things. I thought it was a gimmick but it is a great feature.

I have owned Electrolux, Meile & Roomba vacuums. My new
Dyson DC24 purchased at Target today is by far the best
of them all. Easy to assemble. Lightweight & very easy
to maneuver. I was shocked at the dirt it picked up in minutes from my "clean" carpet.Then with a click or two
you throw the dirt away & replace the cartridge on the machine. No bags to buy! or filters or anything...
Yes it is expensive but Target is currently offering a $40 gift card when you buy this vacuum.
Can't say enough about how impressed I am.Run to Target and buy one...
