Disapointed with Rockin-Sockin Robot Game November 28, 2008 Reviewer:  Grandma Gail "Gail" (Lansing, Kansas, USA)  See all my reviews >

I really bought this for Grandpa to play with the grandsons. It was broke very quickly there-after., one of the robots don't work anymore. I guess they don't make them like they used to???

Rockem Sockem Letdown December 30, 2008 Reviewer:  Drone "A. Munson" (St. Louis)  See all my reviews >

I never played the original Rockem Sockem game that came out in 1966 (I wasn't born yet), but I did get one for christmas in 1980. Me and my uncle got to open one present on Christmas Eve and we were lucky enough that I chose the Rockem Sockem robot game. The Red Rocker and Blue Bomber battled way past midnight that night and many many nights afterward. I think we finally sold it at a garage sale sometime in the 90's and it was still in perfect working order. I was so excited for my 7 year old son to open his Rockem Sockem Robots this year on Christmas Morning...it was the only thing he really asked Santa for this year. I was ready to re-live a bit of my childhood behind the old Trusty Red Rocker. I cannot begin to describe my dissapointment when I opened the package. The old robots that I remembered had been replaced by cheap plastic Imposters that could hardly keep their heads down right out of the package, and the Red Rocker had something seriously wrong with his left hook. I finally figured out ( Go Figure) that there was something worng with the cheap little plastic dowel that was supposed to control Red Rocker's arm, but was unable to fix it. The two Imposters were unable to finish even one fight as both heads just pop up randomly even when no punches are being thrown. If you ever played the old version...Keep your memories intact and stay away from the "New and Improved" cheapo version. I'm currently debating wether or not to just throw it in the trash or exchange it to see if I can get one that actually works. From the other reviews I've read it seems my chances are pretty slim.

Very Disappointed December 8, 2008 Reviewer:  AbbyMax&Ty's Mom "Shelly P" (Jamestown, NY)  See all my reviews >

My 5 yr old was very excited to get this game. Unfortunately, it was not easy to put together and even harder for him to use! The buttons were way too hard for his little thumbs to press, only one robot could reach to hit the other one therefore the same "color" player would win each time (= arguments because the game was unfair). The "rope" surrounding the ring would fall off whenever you moved the toy...I ended up tossing it in the garbage! Would not recommend!
