My daughter just had to have this toy last Christmas and so she did get it, and it has been nothing but a disappointment for us! The voice recognition on this doll is terrible! My daughter has to repeatedly say over and over, and almost scream it at that, for this doll to respond, and then half the time the doll would misinterpret what my daughter was saying and respond with the wrong response. How frustrating! I am mad at myself for wasting my money on this piece of junk!

Disappointing

My daughter was really excited to receive this gift on Christmas. It was so frustrating to program the doll. It took a long time as I had to start over again many times and squeezing her hand correctly is hard to do. My daughter also gets really frustrated with the doll not being able to understand what she says. You must shout the exact phrase with the correct pronunciation. I also think the doll is too loud and there is no volume control. The doll's hair also gets messy really easily and I noticed the hair comes out of the head easily too. This doll goes through batteries fast! Lets just say she mostly has been sitting up in the closet since she's been open.

I searched all over last year for this "gotta have it" doll, got a really good price for my mother-in-law....what a disappointment. My 7 year old wants to throw it away. It never does what you ask and is REALLY, REALLY annoying. What a complete waste of money, I would not recommend this to ANYONE!!! Do not purchase!

My daughter was also excited to open this up on Xmas morning. It worked for only 2 days. Then went wacky and has not worked since. Her hair falls out in clumps all over. She stopped playing with it for about 6 months and just picked it up again and is frustrated with it already. I would NOT recommend this doll at all. Very disappointed.

I bought this for my 4 yr old daughter and at first she was scared by it talking then got over it, but didn't really follow the doll's questions or she didn't give the "exact" answer for the doll to move on to the next sentence or conversation. My daughter got frustrated and bored with it and it now sits on top of the toy chest "asleep". I thought it was a great toy and had to get it for her, but I don't count.

"Santa" brought this to my daughter and boy am I glad he had to take the heat for this one! It is very frustrating for my daughter (who has a lisp and a strong southern accent anyway) trying to communicate with this doll. From what I have read on other sites, it sounds like Allysen has trouble understanding everyone. I don't have any of the original packaging or I would try to return this. This was totally not worth the money for us!

I found this doll last year in the clearance aisle [...]. I thought, Wow, what a great deal since I know it was regularly about $60.00. I was so excited to show my daughter. I took it home and once we got it out of the box, I then realized why it was [so inexpensive]. What a total waste of money. You have to squeeze her hand so tightly to get her respond and half the time, she doesn't even work. Also, half her hair came out just by my daughter touching it.
Definately not even worth [the price I paid]. Glad I didn't pay regular price.

Don't waste your money, this is the most disappointing doll ever. The voice recognition is horrible, it never worked right, she does not ever respond. She constantly says "what" Physically she is still is perfect condition, becuase my daughter NEVER plays with her.

This doll is a huge waste of money! I got it for my daughter last Christmas. It never understands what you say, it stopped working after a month, the hair falls out. I ended up throwing it in the trash. Horrible!!

We bought this doll for my 5 year old daughter during Christmas 2006. It is now March and the doll is already not working properly. One of the malfunctions is that she does not fully open her eyes, which makes her look a little creepy. She talks but with her eyes half shut and her lips not moving. My daughter has to shout for her to understand what we are saying. I thought it was maybe the batteries, but changing them did not make a difference. My daughter has lost interest in playing with her.
