***OUTSTANDING*** May 23, 2009 Reviewer:  Rose Bowl Mom (Pasadena, Ca)  See all my reviews >

I don't want to call this a documentary, its an outstanding interview of folks WE know and care about. I believe every household needs to see these INTERVIEWS. And yes, it should be shown in our schools, then our children and children of other races will be able to here about the history of folks they know today, not solely on what is protrayed in our biased history books. At Target's price I think I know what everyone is getting for the Holidays and make a donation too.

A Must-See For All Ages February 20, 2009 Reviewer:  Bnita Govens (Philadelphia, PA, USA)  See all my reviews >

I have never seen a video so moving, so inspiring, uplifting and motiviational.

This was something I'd never seen in a documentary. Elvis Mitchell asked those questions that are not the norm, which provided a more in-depth look into those we admire or are curious to know more about. In fact, one of the interviewees is someone I know personally, yet there was a lot of information that impacted his professional career that he wished to share with his audience. I'd always admired one of the well-known public figures, yet I never knew the struggles that she faced, even among her family members.

It is a must-see for teens and adults alike, of all cultures. I highly recommend THE BLACK LIST, and enthusiastically look forward to the subsequent volumes.
