Fun idea, but distracts from purpose... June 12, 2007 Reviewer:  Jennifer M. Shell Real Name (Oak Ridge, TN)  See all my reviews >

I just purchased the Safety 1st Smart Rewards Potty for my son (3 yrs). He's most definitely interested in potty training and shows all the "signs" of wanting to learn, so I thought getting him his own potty would be a good way to move the process along.

This potty is cute, small enough that he can sit on it and "do it all by himself," and it plays all kinds of cute greetings and encouragements. The problem, I'm finding, is that after it plays it's greeting, "Hi there, big kid! Welcome back! etc..." it plays a little elevator music (as I refer to it) until he goes. My son seems to prefer sitting there listening to the music rather than doing what I KNOW he needs to do. All the "fun" features seem to be a distration from the purpose, rather than the encouragement they're supposed to be.

He does, however, LOVE the star sticker reward system - though it takes him forever to do anything to deserve the reward.

We've only had it for about 5 days, though, and so things might change once we've established more of a routine and he gets used to it.

Great Potty!!! July 27, 2008 Reviewer:  Jennifer W (michigan)  See all my reviews >

This potty is great! We had another one that was just a simple potty/stool that my daughter wanted nothing to do with for months and months. We got this potty hoping that she might get a little more interested with a potty that looked more like ours and flushed. The first day we put it out she used it and has been using it since! I love that it doesn't flush unless she actually pees or poops in it, that way she's not constantly trying to play with it. I definately recommend this potty!!

Love This Potty! February 13, 2008 Reviewer:  Monroe's Mommie (Richmond, VA)  See all my reviews >

My daughter picked this potty herself online; then we went to the store to get it. I think it's awesome! It has a sensor that knows when they sit so it sings a song of encouragement and plays music. My daughter loves it! It also has a sensor that knows when they've done something so you know when they've done something too by the congratulatory song. It tells them to flush it; that makes a flushing sound, and then there's the sticker dispenser. My daughter loves to put the sticker on the chart that came with this potty! Also, since this potty is just plain white and blue, I got Hannah Montana (my daughter's favorite thing) stickers and decorated it. I wish you could see the picture! The hole does seem to be a little small, but there have been no problems as of yet! EXTREMELY SATISFIED!!!

Just Not For Us September 25, 2008 Reviewer:  L. A. Fiore Real Name (Wynnewood, PA)  See all my reviews >

This potty is really cute and I thought it would be a great alternative to the plain potties my daughters trained on, but the noises, the speaking, all of it terrified my son! Apparently not all kids want their toilet to talk to them :) Also, the seat and base are very narrow and not as sturdy as some wider based potties.

cute but didn't work... June 24, 2009 Reviewer:  Momma Odi "MsOdi" (Houston, TX)  See all my reviews >

I love the idea that this potty has... to flush only if he pees & the sensor to sing when he pees; BUT my son just wanted to sit on it to make it sing & he was too big for it even before age 2. The Potty Pal & step stool are the way to go!

this potty is so great, my 25month old daughter went on the potty as soon as i put it together. at first i didnt understand why it wasnt flushing, but when they "go" and turn the handle thats when the flush sounds happen. and the stickers cant stick out of the potty or else they will pull them out. now that my daughter is almost trained my 2 sister-in-laws got one for there daughter and son. every one potty training should use this potty.

Awesome!!! November 21, 2008 Reviewer:  Kimberly M (San Antonio, TX)  See all my reviews >

My daughter is 19 months, we went to the store together and this is the one she picked out. We got home and put it together. It was love at first sight, she sat on it and "went" almost right away. I was so shocked and happy. Its the perfect size for her. It sings and greats her when she sits down, and when she goes potty it sings and say great job and reminds her to flush. It also has a sticker reward system, and she loves stickers. I am a mother of 3 and this is by far the best potty chair I have ever purchased.

Finally!!! I am so proud!!! November 18, 2008 Reviewer:  Mommy of 2 boys (Perkiomenville PA)  See all my reviews >

I have been trying to potty train my son since the begining of the summer~I was always told it was much eaiser to train kids then. He wanted no parts of the potty no matter how hard I tried. Well last week (I am 8 months pregnant so a little break from changing diapers would be great!) I desided that this was it! I took him to Target to "pick out his very own potty". He and I both fell in love with it! It is so easy to use and clean. My son LOVES the stickers and the chart that comes with it! He knows that when he hits the "number 10" he will get a special potty prize! It is also teaching him to count! I should have bought this in June!

whoo hoo!!!! October 25, 2008 Reviewer:  mom of lars See all my reviews >

After struggling with the #2 part of potty training for 2 years(we tried everything) I took my four year old son to pick out his own "tiny potty". He chose this one and then we went to the pull up aisle where he said "thanks for helping me but Im a big boy now and i don't need you anymore" we picked out lots of underwear and have never had another issue with going in the toilet since.

My Daughter Loves It and So Do I! October 11, 2008 Reviewer:  AllAboutKeeley "Keeley's Mom" (Upper Ohio Valley)  See all my reviews >

I bought this potty over any other because it can be "flushed," which is something my 2-1/2 year old daughter loves to do, so figured it would help her in potty training. We started PT'ing less than 2 weeks ago using this potty and she is now potty trained.

We have had a problem of the sensors saying she did something when she didn't, but after washing it out again, it stops that. The only thing I don't like about it is that we've filled up her Potty Chart with stickers and yet there's no way to stop the potty from saying "put a sticker on your chart" unless we turn it off altogether.
