my cat is 7 years old and never in his life used a scratcher before, and usually scratches in an upward position. so i thought he wouldnt go near it since it lays on the floor, and its a diffrent matirial than the couch. but all it took to get him to use it was a couple of treats and now he likes it better than the couch. he even likes to sleep on it. it might just be the catnip, but this thing works great for my cat. plus its so cheap.

This really did the trick to make my cat stop scratching (and ruining) my rugs. The only "down side" is that the material tends to litter the floor. We didn't have to use the catnip, either, to get her interested. She immediately took to scratching it. I'll probably buy a second one, soon.

The larger size is great as the narrower ones often tip over in the exuberance the cats seem to have after a good scratch and sniff of catnip. I know I'll be buying replacements on the SuperScratcher+ from now on.

I live in an apartment with two kitties who luuuv to scratch. The super scratcher is a "double wide" version of the original and is a money/time saving way to indulge your kitties natural instinct to scratch. I put this one right by an arm chair and notice that they now are choosing the scratcher over the chair. Just add a sprinkle of catnip and let the fun begin.

I have three cats, two of which scratch my furniture into shreds. I supplied a variety of toys and furniture covered in sisal, carpeting and even both, some free standing, others hanging from doors, some large, some small, but all went ignored in favor of my furniture. finally I gave one of the corrugated cardboard items a try, and they love it even if you don't bother with the catnip!

I have a variety, and this particular one is good to slide under a couch for pets that like to hide. not only do my cats enjoy scratching and resting on it, but my rabbit sleeps and nibbles on it, too! I will definitely buy it again.

my cat lately has been using my furniture as a giant scratching post, and when i went to find an actual post, the smallest one was 25 dollars! so i got this and my cat loves it! it was like instant attraction,lol. He rolls on it and licks it and sleeps on it and hasnt touched the furniture since i got it! i have recommended this to a couple friends and they love it too!

This is the only kind of scratcher my 3 cats like and have been using one for over 6 years, their entire lives. I'm finding it very hard now I live in the Netherlands because they don't have Super Scratchers, they only have the thinner ones. My cats also love to lay on it after scratching, why the Super Scratcher is the best, and will even sleep on it when it is warm. The one they have now will have to do till the summer and I stock up when in the US.

My cat loved this, at first he sneezed at the catnip, but then he stopped. It, obviously, is only good for about a month, then it falls apart, but it's supposed to. I'm about to throw it away and buy a second one. My cat really enjoys it.

I bought this for my two cats because they were scratching everything else in the house. I put it by our couch (they usually scratch the side of it), but they didn't do anything with it. My cats avoided the scratcher at all cost. The catnip did not even attract them to it. After a week of not touching it, or going near it, I had to get rid of it. It wasn't used at all! I was so disappointed about it because I heard great things about it from my friends. I guess my cats just don't like the texture of it. They'd much rather use carpet, our couch, and everything else.
