I've had two of these headphones, and both of them completely stopped working after about 9 months. The music would only come out of one ear. The first time it happened i thought maybe i had done something to them but now that its happened twice i think its the headphones. So if you just want something short term or to run with occassionaly these are great but if you want something that will last you should look somewhere else.

Apparently I have some ear deformity which keeps me from being able to use earbuds. I also like to just wear one earphone sometimes. So these are absolutely perfect. They stay on securely, they do not press on your ear, you can quickly take one side out of your ear and put it back without fumbling with dangling earbuds (etc), and they do not require any particular configuration of cartilage to use.
Like another reviewer, I found my first pair of an older version of these on the ground! I cleaned and used them until the cord gave out at the attachment point to the jack. By the time I replaced them, Sony had made a design improvement where that attachment point on the current model is now a right angle (as shown in the picture). This greatly reduces stress on the wires at this point. I totally love them, and I have had my more recent pair for well over 2 years. I think they last just fine, and for [price] or so, they totally exceed my expectations.

This is Sony at its best in my opinion. They are cheep phones that produce great sound (for the price point). My first pair of these I found on the ground when I was walking one day and after a quick cleaning I fell in love with them. They lasted about three years of casual listening on my discman (yes, this was a while ago) and then lost them before they could break. As others have said they are great for working out, are super light weight, and if you have to buy a new pair every year is ten bucks really going to break your heart?

This is the only headphone that I have found to be comfortable and sound good. This is my 2nd and I use it with my Iriver MP3 player. The 1st was chewed up by one of our cats. I recommend this headset to everyone. It is a cheapie headset but I have found nothing as comfortable or able to stay in place while exercising, mainly running. With time the cord starts to crack, which is why I give it only a 4-star rating.

I went through 2 of these. Both were very nice before they blew out. They last me a little less than a year. They deliver a nice loud crisp sound especially for their small package but they don't last their lifetime which does not work for me.

This is my favorite design of headphones, I tried those new wrap around the ear types...I seem to have an issue with those unwrapping it's self from around my right ear during my workouts and trying to re-adjust.But these headphones my first pair I had them for about 1 1/2 yrs, my wires unraveled from wear & tear & me pulling on the cord. But when I did wear them, all I had to do was stick these in my ear and no matter how vigorous the exercise they would stay in place and produced great sound.I will be buying me a new pair and they are also at a very great price! If being interrupted by your headphones falling off your head during a workout is an issue, lol I would recommend that you try these!

For a [...]pair of headphones the sound quality is surprisingly good and they stay on well. I hate wearing ear buds as I find them generally uncomfortable. I've had mine for a few years and am now looking to replace them with a new pair. After a while the sound will start to go out due to the wiring becoming loose. That's still not a huge deal for me though considering the price. If you're looking for a pair of light weight headphones for working out or general use I highly recommend these.
