A tea kettle you can't use on high heat???

At this price, I didn't expect a top of the line product. However, with Copco and Target offering it, I felt I'd get a usable teakettle of reasonable quality. However, when I read the use and care instructions, I noticed the warning in large letters, DO NOT USE ON HIGH HEAT. Use on low or medium setting only. This is for both gas and electric stoves.
Do you know how long it takes to bring water to a boil on medium heat? I can't tell you--I gave up after 30 minutes. At that point on my electric stove, the water wasn't even as hot as I like my bath water.
This is just a ridiculous product, as useless as a cookie sheet that can't go in the oven or shoes you mustn't put on your feet.

This kettle looks nice and serves its main function of boiling water, but the whistle has never worked for me. Also, be careful when going to pour your water because the handle gets very hot.

I handwashed mine everytime it needed to be cleaned but the cap whistle kept falling off! The little piece of metal that holds it on would slip out if I tipped the kettle to the side. You get what you pay for I guess, I finally gave up after I completely lost the cap and the water kept boiling over. If you do get it - use a potholder when taking it off the stove, first time I used it I burned my hand as well. Purchased the Kitchenaid TeaKettle 2qts as a replacement, very happy with it! This will last me many more years then the 6 months I had this one for. Spend the money on a quality kettle, cheaper is not better!

I have owned this tea kettle for about a year now, and I have had no problems with it. I was very happy with it and thought it was a great kettle for the extremely low price. However, I bought one for a friend, and she told me that the whistle cap on it broke after its second use. If you get one that works, great, but if not then a more expensive kettle may be worth the price.

Cap/whistle hinge malfunctioned the second time I used it. Stuck in open position, hence no whistle. Since the whistle feature is essential for me, this purchase and subsequent return were a waste of my time.

I love the idea of having a whistling tea kettle in my home, and purchased this one for myself at a reasonable price. I sure got what I paid for, the thing did not even whistle on the first attempt. The handle became very hot, and the water also took a long time to heat. I will be returning this item to the store and get one that actually works the way I want it to. I am really disappointed in this purchase.
