I got this for a wedding gift and I really like it. I thought it would be good for pet hair because I have 2 cats and 2 dogs and hardwood floors. I love it because it picks up that little line of dust you can never get into the dust pan. It also sucks up the dust bunnies really well. You can also flip it over and really get that hard to reach spot where the wall meets the floor. The only reason I left one star off is because of the design of the suction. It has fabulous suction until the area between the suction tube and filter gets jammed with hair. At first I was frustrated beacause I was trying to pull the hair out of the tube with my fingers until I realized that all you have to do is remove the initial clump, and then put the vacuum back together and turn it on. The remaining hair gets sucked out of the tube for easy emptying. You do have to do this often, (I do it after each room I clean) but once you get the hang of it, no problem. I would gladly do that everytime I use it rather than get down on my hands and knees with cumbersome attachments. As for a regular broom and dust pan being better I would have to disagree. For big jobs I will sweep first and then vacuum like the instructions advise. But for quicker jobs (like the dust bunnies) I turn it on and sweep and vacuum at the same time. So far I have no problem with how long the charge lasts. Whenever I am not using it, it's plugged in. I also have to say I loved the color choices. I went with green!

Need I say more; this is the best $50 I've spent! I have 2 black dogs, a cat, and a crawling baby. This takes care of pet hair better than anything I've tried. Be prepared though, you have to let the broom charge for 24 hours before use. It also comes with a 1yr. warranty when you mail in the registration card. I no longer dread sweeping!

I purchased the pink broom vac yesterday & I absolutely love it. It was easy to put together. I had to let it charge overnight. I have all new hardwood floors and tile and was sick of swiffering all the time, not to mention dragging around my regular vacuum. This was the perfect solution. It's not heavy, it has good suction (sucks up dirt & dog hair easily), and it gets the little places a regular vacuum doesn't reach well. I would recommend this item to anyone.

I've used mine once and I love it. Considering it's weight, it is very easy to use and it does a great job. I charged for the recommended 24 hours before use and swept a relatively large area with the vacuum on (instructions say to sweep and then vac) and it never lost power or suction.
I have lots of dogs and lots of pet hair. Frankly, pet hair jams all up all vacuums doesn't it? That's the price we pay for our furry friends. :)
I rated 4 of 5 stars simply because I have no history with this item. I would rate 5 of 5 out of the box and reserve final star for long term satisfaction

Wow, I went ahead and ignored the bad comments and decided to try it myself. I absolutely love mine!! I have two dogs one Samoyd and another beagle mix which also sheds. I have wood floors and wood stairs. It is sooo easy to just walk around and vaccum it all up real fast and use it on my stairs. I totally recommend trying it for yourself!

If you use the Broom Vac for its intended purpose (quick clean-ups of not huge messes) and have realistic expectations, it is a great, handy little thing to have around! It isn't meant to replace a full-size vac but has plenty of suction to pick up the kitty litter, crumbs, fur and pieces of leaves and weeds the dog drags in. I used to have the broom and dust pan in one corner, the microfiber mop for the animal hair in another corner - have been able to put all of them away and just grab the broom vac instead! There's no bending and struggling to hold the dust pan in one hand and sweep dirt with the other! Of course it is heavier than a regular broom but I am petite and have had no problem handling it. My tile and hardwood floors have never been so free of debris and pet hair on a daily basis!!

Reasons why I returned this item:
1 The broomstick is made of two connected (plastic?)rods that although tightened by my manly husband the stick still 'gives' in the center while sweeping due to weight.
2 It cannot sweep under ledges, cabinets, low tables, or tight areas, ect., due to bulk.
3 Vac opening is only a few inches wide ( see in pic the black chamber) so additional prep sweeps needed to 'guide' debris.
4 The charge significantly diminished after sweeping w/ power in one 15x18 hrdwdflr bedroom.
5 Not as loud as a shopvac but close!
6 Dachshund hairs/dustbunnies accumulates on bristles requiring regular high-icky factor cleaning.
After wielding this device I still had to use my handy broom & dustpan to finish off the room. Purchased on sale and returned it. Maybe it is time for that Miele ...
And another one gone, and another one gone
Another one bites the dust.

Not enough power to do the job

There is not enough power to take care of an average kitchen floor or say a 9X12 hardwood floor for a regular family. The only possible good use of this product might be for a tiny room that gets very little traffic. The sweeper needs to be recharged after using, and frankly is a little heavy and cumbersome to use and store.

my mom bought this for her house. We tried it and it was not good at all. It was much heavier than expected and my mom couldn't use it because it pulled on her shoulders. It just was not what we expected for the amount of money paid. We returned it to the store.

I was kind of let down with this one. It really will only suck up very little items, for instance I use it in the bathroom around the kitty litter box. Just this morning my son spilled the cats dry food on the floor and I tried using the Broom Vac to sweep it up and it wouldn't suck it up so I had to just go get the ol' broom and dust pan. Also you have to hold the vacuume at a certain angle to get it to pick up well and it's also pretty heavy for a "broom" anyhow I still use the broom and dust pan for most jobs but keep this around for quick suck up of dust bunnies or the cat litter but other wise it kind of useless. :(
