We received three of these sets for our wedding a year and a half ago and I'm considering buying another one! They are awesome for baking, storage, prep, and serving. I use them all the time. They really keep food fresh for a long time. With all the studies coming out about how using plastics is bad for you, I'm glad we made the switch to all pyrex all the time!

I've use Pyrex products in the past, and these do not disappoint. The lids, while need a little work to make sure they snap closed properly, are excellent at keeping the food fresh and can go straight from fridge to microwave by opening up the little spout on top. The glass is sturdy and the lids will hopefully last a long time. I wonder if they have in the a square/rectangular shape also...

These bowl are great except that the sizes make them less useful than they could be. The middle sized ones are good but the small ones are quite small, I usually only use them to serve dips. The large one comes in handy every so often but is too big for most leftovers. We also have a set of "Pyrex Serveware Sculptured 6-Piece Bowl Set with Lids" (unfortunately not sold at Target) which we use much more often. I would highly recommend them instead - they are almost never in the cabinet because they're always being used! There are only three bowls in that set but I wish we had two sets of those instead of one and this set of five.

I have two different sets of pyrex storage sets and I absolutely love them. Especially with all the news about plastics lately, I feel more secure using glass storage containers. They're extremely durable and are can be used for many things!

Like many other reviewers, I received this as a wedding gift. I thought that having a glass set rather than a plastic one was just the smartest thing to do! Well, I was in for quite a disappointment once I actually started using these (and it's been 1,5 years).
First off, glass makes them VERY heavy. I don't know about you, but I often use these kinds of containers for taking lunch with me to school or work. Well, these ones are way too heavy to stick in a bag (especially if you walk or your bag already is kind of heavy). Not to mention that they are breakable, so you have to mind your bag when you get in and out of the car. So, most of the time I end up packing my lunches in a couple of plastic containers I own! So much for having this nice set.
I also find sizes somewhat odd. The two small ones are too small. I would have preferred a greater variety of sizes, and maybe one square one would have been nice too.
Now, on to the "features". The steam-release is a pain to open, so I end up almost never using it.
Also, the lids fit on WAY too tight and the plastic they are made of is way too thick. Every time I have soup or something liquid there, I end up spilling it, no matter how careful I try to be, just because at some point I always lose my grip while struggling with the hard plastic that either hurts my fingers, or suddenly plops open when I least expect it (I am a person with an adequate finger dexterity, in case you wonder, and never have troubles with lids on other containers I own or use).
So, to summarize:
+s - the glass is nice, as is easy to clean and doesn't stain or smell like plastic. It does wash nicely in the dishwasher.
-s - heavy, not very good choice of sizes and shapes, horrible, hard-to open lids and vents.

I like my bowls and I use them often; however, the lids are very difficult to snap on. I find myself leaning on the bowl and trying to seal the lid on, unsuccessfully of course. I like the ventilation feature on the lid.

These are great... and we love the fact that they can go anywhere! I am much happier putting left overs in these than in disposable or plastic storage containers. Great purchase.

Pyrex has the best products. They look and stay nice unlike the cheap plastic stuff that's out there! You can heat, bake, store, & more with this set. You won't regret the purchase, I don't and in fact I coule probably use another!!

I love the sturdiness of this set and how easy it is to use them for microwaving and storing without using plastic gladware. But the lids do not seal well. My husband and I had problems keeping one lid closed to preserve the freshness of our food in the fridge. I would think I got it closed and then discover the lid half off the container in the fridge.
