We received this mixer as a wedding gift (off our registry). The mixer unit is great. Light weight and durable. The beaters on the other hand are not. After only the third time of using the mixer one of the wires broke away at it's connection point. Now a year later and less than a dozen uses (total) the other beater has broken the same way. They both broke durning normal usage (mixing cake batter). I have been trying to find replacement beater for a year now and have not been able. I have even checked Kitchen Aid's website with no luck. Make sure to find an extra set of beaters if you purchase this mixer.

I am very pleased with the speeds of the mixer. It is true that the slow speed is slow and that it doesn't throw your ingredients out of the bowl like some mixers do on low speed. Very pleased.

I ordered this item specifically because the description says it is made in the usa. The box says it was made in China. I have requested that Target correct this information since I know that many people are looking to buy american made products and do not appreciate being mis-lead.

I have used this mixer for all kinds of heavy recipes and it has never failed me once. It is simple, hardy, and a lot more quiet than I expected. The beater design really does deliver on the promise to not clog as well. I highly recommend it! In regards to the couple of negative reviews here, KitchenAid has an excellent warranty on the mixer so you can be sure any uncommonly defective product will be replaced.

I can't understand why people would use an electric mixer to mix cookie dough. Most cookie dough recipes, you just mix in the flour until is just incorporated, which only takes about a minute or two by hand.

I've had this mixer for a year, and it's worked wonderfully. But yesterday when I was mixing cake batter, I noticed that one of the beaters wire was broken off at the connecting point. By the time I finished mixing, another one was as well. I'm hoping to find replacements, though, because I really do like this little guy.

I've had this mixer for more than a year now and it's holding up very well. (I use it about once a week.) I do worry about the beaters because they are much thinner than on my last lightweight mixer, but so far I've had no problem mixing cookie dough or cake batter. It's much quieter than my last mixer, too.

I have the large kitchenaid mixer but it is often too big for the smaller jobs in the kitchen. While visiting my daughter, I saw how much she used hers and decided that it would come in handy for me also. I am so happy to have it, it is just what I needed, and is perfect for mashing potatoes, brownie mixes and everyday smaller cooking and baking projects.
