I ordered two of these bookcases. One of them came with a damaged leg but kept it anyway. Very easy to put together and does not look cheap.

I thought this would be an excellent addition to my livingroom, but sadly enough it was JUNK ! easy to assemble but once it's up it is extremely shaky.... if you don't touch it , it looks great. Not sturdy at all. I definately would pass on it if you're considering it.

I bought the same bookcase 5 years ago and I've moved twice across the country. It's still beautiful.
I ordered and received a second one last week and tried to put it together today...it is a horrible mess. None of the camlocks fit and the color is totally off. It has the look of very bad quality wood and it was about $40 more than my original piece. I'm very disapointed.

I have the rest of the dolce office set and while this looks good, it did not put together well at all. THe "screw" assembly pieces keep falling out and it's leaning to one side. I'm probably going to have to take it totally apart and glue or screw it together myself.
Not nearly as good as the folding bookshelf or the leaning one.

We ordered this item for our living room. I was worried because so many of the reviews said it arrived broken. Well, ours did too. It was such a hassle to deal with. [...]

The bookcase looks ok...it's not really solid or heavy, but for an accent piece it's fine. But it's definitely not worth the hassle of being sent a broken piece of junk and wasting so much time and energy trying to come to a satisfactory refund that will never happen.

This thing has been the bane of my existence for over a year. It looks great, but the parts are so cheap that they continually fall off with little to no force. A car with one of those massive subwoofers in it drove by and a screw fell out, causing the left side to fall off dropping books everywhere. AVOID!

I ordered this with the dolce desk and they both arrived today. I am extremely pleased with the desk but sadly can't say the same for the bookcase. First 2 of the cambolts that they provided broke after a firm twist so I had to put it together minus those bolts, okay it's together but still cheap nuts and bolts... come on. It arrived very well packed and I was thinking okay it should be relatively scratch free, I'm not one expecting perfection, I mean it is wood, a natural product, but I had to touch it up quite a bit with a furniture marker, luckily it's a dark color and that with some furniture polish has it looking a lot better. So now that I have it, I'm keeping it but if I had seen it somewhere in the store; for the price I paid, it would have stayed on the shelf.

We've had this bookcase for three years now. We get many compliments on it. It has been through 2 moves- one cross-country, and has held up. It does loosen up during moves, and we just pound it back together again. We probably should have used wood glue when we put it together. Great overall value for the $$.

I can only assume Target has changed suppliers for this bookcase. Everyone seems to love their purchase, I sent mine back (that was a 1st for me). When I opened the box I noticed the stain color was not as listed--but I figured I would use it in another room. BUT, the piece that holds everything together at the top was 1/2" too short. The screws were made of such soft metal that they strip as you're tightening them. This piece was just pathetic. I have leather chairs and other pieces of furniture I ordered from Target, and have liked all of them--but not this piece. I rated it 1 star only because 0 stars is not an option.

The bookshelf looks nice but it is junk. It is not well made and it is very shaky once it is put together. Mine fell apart after a couple of months, apparently your not suppose to put anything on it or try and move it. I tried to return it. I only wanted to exchange and Target made it very difficult. Their customer service was poor and I never did get to exchange the bookshelf.
