I bought this set for my husband and thought we might make fondue every once in a while. It is so easy to clean and extremely easy to use, that we cook in it all the time. We have made several cheese fondues, broths and chocolate. Unlike the "burner" type of fondue sets, this is safe and heats evenly and quickly. I can leave the room and not worry about setting the house on fire. The plug fits well and will only come out if you trip over the cord. This is great if you have pets or kids running around. You will not lose your dinner if someone is clutsy.
We brought our set over to my in-laws for Christmas for a cheese appetizer and it was a huge hit. My mother in law used her set for chocolate. Hers had the flame below and did not heat evenly and took significantly longer to heat the chocolate. It took me seconds to clean my set while my mother in law was scrubbing her old style set. I would highly recommend this brand and type of fondue set!

Going to college...

Bigger than it looks, this little gem of a fondue maker would make a great gift for college students. Why? Not because you can expect your son or daughter to suddenly become a suave sophisticate who entertains their fellow dorm buddies with fondue parties, but because this little gadget really cooks! Takes up less space than a microwave (ok, it won't make popcorn, but microwave popcorn isn't all that good for you anyway...) Remove the fondue ring and it becomes a versatile little pot that, with a little imagination, can cook virtually anything. The adjustable thermostat heats up to 400 degrees, so making soup, chili, hamburgers, grilled cheese, ramen noodles and all their other favorites would be easy. Plus, there's the mom approved break-away safety electrical cord. The non-stick interior makes clean up a breeze.

We got this for my shower and I just loved it. This is so much better than some of the ones you have to light, because if you're doing fondue, you'll really need to control the heat.
So far, we've made cheese fondue twice, and chocolate once, and I just love it.

A dream come true

I have dreamed of getting an electric fondue pot for over a decade. I've already made all sorts of fondue. Chocolate, cheese, oil, bullion. It's non-stick which was really great with the cheese. It had decent, even heat. Not having an open flame just made everything better. There wasn't a danger factor. Clean-up is super easy.

This is by far the best way to do fondue! The convential pots that use canned fuel always scorch the bottom of my cheese or chocolate fondue and gives it that burnt taste before you're done eating. The electric fondue pot is perfect. It still leaves a bit of residue in the bottom of the pot over the heating element, but with the non-stick coating it just takes a little soaking and it cleans up very nice.

I love this unique affordable fondue maker. It's stylish with the stainless steel look, and so easy to clean. It warms up quickly and once you remove the plug you can place it in the middle of the dinner table and it remains warm, while you and your guests enjoy the experience.

For Christmas I bought my sister 2 of these pots. Crazy enough, my brother bought me a Rival stainless steel pot that wasn't non-stick for Christmas. For our birthday get-together we all brought our pots and had the best gathering we've had in years! We had so much fun- even the kids stayed with the family the whole time and didn't run off to play video games. Since then, my sister has told me a dozen times that these pots have brought her family closer by longer times around the dinner table talking and dipping! She said it's one of the best gifts I've ever given her family. This pots performance is outstanding- very easy clean-up and perfect heat settings. A suggestion- always get non-stick. The pot that was stainless steel inside has made cheese a nightmare (I'll use it for oil or chocolate) but the non-stick cleans up in a snap. This is our family's all-time favorite gift to give others now because we love it so much! On a scale of 1-10 I give the Rival non-stick a 10!

I received 2 of these for Christmas. We used them on New Year's Eve with our family of 4. We had such a blast! We used oil for one and cheese for the other then rinsed one out and used it for the chocolate fondue. There was such little we had to do. The oil stayed perfect on 350 and the cheese lasted the whole time on warm. Nothing burned or stuck to the bottom of the pan. I have 2 suggestions though:
1. The minimun fill line, in my opinion, is too low (probably for legal purposes). I added an extra cup of oil with absolutely no problems.
2. The skewers should be coated in melt proof plastic. Even though I warned my kids not to scratch the teflon surface with the skewer, I caught them stirring the chocolate with them and it did leave a little scratch.

While searching for a fondue set, I relied upon all of the A+ reviews that this particular model received. I was not disappointed - this set is almost perfect: it's easy to regulate the heat (my favorite part about it), non-stick and very easy to clean. I only wish it had a longer cord, as this is the only thing that should be changed. If you are in the market for a fondue set, get this one. I am going to probably buy a second one, so we can do savory and sweet fondues without having to wash first. Great model!!
