Quality of the shell torchiere stand is nice , but the shell globe has no appeal and looks cheap. Yes it's an amber finish but painted by a amateur with spots of red
& orange. very very very disappointed!

It was easy to assemble. The lamp is definitely more
brown in color than the picture implies. I'm very pleased
with it's solid feel and looks more expensive than the price. It's very tall 5.9ft, and takes one 3way bulb max 150 watt. The switch on the side is easy to use. It gives off a nice ambient glow on low settings and lights well on high. I'm pleased with the purchase. The only reason it
didn't get 5 stars was mine had some small scratches on the
pole, but I covered them with a brown marker. It's completely unnoticeable.

This lamp looks absolutely nothing like the picture. Online the shade looks an orange/red, in real life it is a pale yellow/green color and looks cheap. Not at all what I wanted! Very disappointed, took it back immediately to the nearest store, bummed I threw 17.95 down the tubes for shipping.

I was very disappointed when I put this together, especially since the other two lamps I ordered from Target looked so good. The base of this is okay and sturdy, but I did have to repaint it because there were sections that weren't as black as the rest.

But the worst is the shell. It is not multicolored like in the picture, but yellow all over and the squares are badly painted on. And the top edge was not completely painted so the light shined through the side and showed how cheap it was. Again, I painted the top edge which solved the problem, but I ended up doing a lot of work myself just to make it look decent. Definitely not up to Target's usual standards.

I purchased this lamp with another one and to say I was disappointed is a understatement.
1. It was scratched up before I even took it out of the box.
2. The glass shade was poorly painted.
3. It tilts to the side once put together.

Yes, I put it together thinking perhaps I could position it to hide the flaws...alas I was sadly mistaken.

To give an example of the poor quality...I grazed it with a fingernail putting it together and paint chipped off on my carpet. Suffice to say I was exasperated and even more so when I realized it would be more of a pain and expense to get this returned. Do not waste your money on this. I know it is only $50 but frankly I would gladly have spent more or been more selective if I'd known what I was getting. The $20 bronze lamp with frosted glass shade I also purchased and it put this lamp to shame.
Bottom line do NOT purchase this lamp, unless you see it first hand and know what you are getting into.

I have had this lamp for nearly two years, and I love love love it! I was just moving some furniture and I broke the thing, and I cried. I knew they weren't carrying these in stores, and I was so excited to see that I can still get it online! I am an interior designer, and have a very large great room. This lamp is the perfect ambient light for the dark corner of that room. I love it, and if I break my new one, I'll buy another!

Not what I expected based on the photos. Looks like a cheap imitaion...which is what it is. You get what you pay for.

Either I received the wrong item or this item is of the poorest quality I've ever seen. Upon removing from the packaging, I could see that I was going to be disappointed. I put it together hoping that once I put the light bulb in it would illuminate nicely - boy was I wrong! The photo above is a poor indicator of the quality of this item!

I received 2 of these lamps 3 years ago as a wedding gift, and I love them. They look so nice, and I have received many compliments. I thought you could not get them anymore either, and I was pleased to see them available online. We broke one, but we were able to repair it. they have such a nice '30's look to them, and for the price they are great.
