LOVE IT! October 18, 2005 Reviewer:  yvonne allen "yallen" (jamaica, queens)  See all my reviews >

This kettle is prettier than I expected. I didn't think it would be so shiney. When I walk in my kitchen it makes me smile. I LOVE IT!

Nice teakettle! September 5, 2008 Reviewer:  Jennifer Forte "Mikey's Mom" Real Name (Newark, DE United States)  See all my reviews >

I really like this teakettle. I haven't had any problem at all like the previous reviewer did with the handle getting hot; in fact, I have found the opposite to be true. The handle is cool as room temperature when I'm handling the kettle. The kettle is sharp looking and works great. The whistle on it is certainly plenty loud to get my attention. The materials and workmanship on the teakettle are great - no problems at all!

Great December 8, 2008 Reviewer:  Happy Wifey (Fresno, CA)  See all my reviews >

I received this tea kettle as a wedding gift, and not only is it just as cute in real life as in the picture, it heats the water quickly and it holds a lot! The only thing I was bummed about is that the green enamel chips fairly easily... I was washing it and accidentally banged it against the side of the sink and it chipped before I had even used it for the first time. Just be careful with it.

KitchenAid Tea Kettle August 17, 2008 Reviewer:  Barbara in NY (New York)  See all my reviews >

I do not recommend this teapot. The handle gets very hot and you have to use a pot holder to pour the water after it boils

Inside coating leaches black dust and rust December 27, 2007 Reviewer:  Candide "Candide" (Palo Alto)  See all my reviews >

"This kettle looks beautiful in my kitchen and I love it but I must get rid of it because the inside coating has been leaching black dust and rust (plus indeed, the silicon ring melts...)

I have had this kettle for about 18 months, I use it on a gaz stove every morning for making our coffee with a filter cone, and sometimes for tea in the afternoon. About 6 months ago my husband said that a load of rust came out of the kettle as he was pouring the water for his tea.

I delayed taking action because I was busy, and I like the kettle. But finally I took a torch to see inside and indeed it is rusting very much on the bottom and up about one inch along the side; and if you drag your finger above the rust line inside it will come out black.

So, I do not know what the Chinese manufacturers are using but it cannot be healthy.
I wish KitchenAid would have better quality control.
I am very disappointed as I liked the kettle and it was not cheap."

I love my kettle even after I ruined it! August 30, 2008 Reviewer:  mommy times two (Central Texas)  See all my reviews >

I bought this kettle in the beginning of 2007 and used it several times a day and never had any problems with it. That is until one day I decided that I would have myself a cup of tea and filled the kettle up with water and set it on the stove with the burner on full blast. I had just had my second baby and she started screaming for food. As I was sitting there nursing her I smelled a peculiar odor. Apparently.. (let's blame it on the postpartum hormones) I had forgotten about the kettle and had forgot to put the spout down. Needless to say that this sent my poor little kettle into nuclear meltdown. The point to my story is, I think with proper care this is an excellently well crafted kettle and will last you several years.

I don't see a problem July 8, 2008 Reviewer:  Roz See all my reviews >

After reading the other reviews, I think it is only fair to say that I have been using my kettle everyday for a minimum of 2 years without rust or anything melting. I have a gas stove and after its cleaned it is as good as new. Perhaps the problem is water being left in it for too long, or the kettle could have been heated with out water, causing the coating to break down. In either case it would be operator error. By the way, my kettle is made in Thailand, not china.

Don't judge a book by its cover!!!! April 26, 2009 Reviewer:  Newlywed08 "Newlywed08" (Texas)  See all my reviews >

No doubt that this is a beautiful tea kettle and matches my kitchen perfectly, but it doesn't do its job! I've had mine for almost a year (got it as a wedding present) and have used it almost 15 times. The first 3 times it worked perfectly, but now the lid will not fit on the top of the kettle, making it such a struggle to squeeze it on and off. Also, mine doesn't whistle, it just spits tea out everywhere (and I mean EVERYWHERE!). It makes everything a mess, isn't worth the trouble, and costs WAY TOO MUCH for the job it does. I wouldn't recommend buying this tea kettle unless you need it for looks and not for use.

Popping Paint! January 24, 2009 Reviewer:  Deborah Erickson "DeborahE" Real Name (Seattle)  See all my reviews >

I adore this kettle! I got it as a wedding gift. However be careful and don't leave it on a burner without any water inside! I accidentally turned on the burner that it was on when it didn't have any water inside and all the finish popped off of it. I am getting it again - this time as a birthday gift. This time I won't leave it on the stove top!!!!!

Excellent kettle! October 19, 2009 Reviewer:  Savvy Shopper (DC)  See all my reviews >

This teakettle is absolutely perfect! It looks like a piece of art in my kitchen. The workmanship is stunning, colors are great, and it boils quickly with a very audible whistle. The handle does not get too hot, and nothing melts…you must follow the directions and only boil on medium heat. If you do, your kettle will last with no problems, and the metal will never get too hot.

My mom recently came to visit, and she now wants one for herself! She loved how easy it was to open and pour and had no problems lifting it either.

I tested out a few before I purchased this one. It’s definitely your best bet and worth the money.
