works for some beds February 22, 2007 Reviewer:  Rev. Mom (St. Paul, MN)  See all my reviews >

The concept is good, and the rail is sturdy, but it wont fit on a toddler-sized bed or converted crib (without creative jerry-rigging) or a captain's bed or platform bed (at all). It has been a disappointing purchase for this reason - not working on for any stages of our child's beds - it is only designed to fit between a traditional mattress and boxspring.

Piece of Cake! January 16, 2008 Reviewer:  T. Gasparini Real Name (Mooresville, NC)  See all my reviews >

First of all, read the directions people! It states not to use on bunk beds, toddler beds, cribs or water beds. If you check all the parts and go step-bystep, it was simple to put together. From start to finish (installed on bed, 15 min. max. It is strurdy and very easy to use. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to put it together.

Sturdy and safe and worth the pain to put together February 14, 2007 Reviewer:  Busy mom (Minneapolis, MN)  See all my reviews >

We bought 2 bed rails and almost kept the other as it was much easier to install, but we're now glad we kept this one. This rail severely tested the patience of my husband (also an engineer) when putting it together. However, it does keep our busy toddler safe (he jumps on the bed, and "wrestled" with the rail and it didn't budge or drop). The drop down function makes it easy to make the bed and it works well with a full size regular mattress.

Hard to put together January 3, 2007 Reviewer:  Uamom "TS" (Montana)  See all my reviews >

I bought this at Target store. It is hard to put together. My husband had a hard time to crew the pieces together. It's sturdy though but is not high enough for a pillow-top bed.

Hard to assemble? Seriously? NO! May 16, 2009 Reviewer:  R. Vanderveen "toy mom" Real Name (Illinois)  See all my reviews >

Ok, I am reading the other reviews and people are saying this is SO difficult to assemble and comes in 100 pieces. It probably comes in about 10 pieces or less, most of which just snap together. Oh, and there are 4 screws. I put it together with 2 toddlers climbing all over me and "helping" me in about 15 minutes, from the time I opened the box until the time it was set up on the bed. I just followed the directions and it was that easy. Not confusing, not a physical strain, etc. I am quite confused about the engineers who can't figure it out. Really not that hard. I'm a simple housewife who did it without a hitch. The only thing I had trouble with was at the end I couldn't get the rail to stay up but then I realized it was because I hadn't looked at the directions for the last step and I had it installed upside down on the bed. My fault for not looking at the directions. Please ignore other reviews about difficulty with putting it together because it's easy. You have to follow directions and give yourself 20 minutes, but BIG DEAL, take the time and then you're done.

oops May 6, 2009 Reviewer:  V. Schrick Real Name (Long Island NY)  See all my reviews >

this doesn't fit my daughter's toddler bed- the smallest it goes is twin- I must have misunderstood. And when she naps in our bed, it doesn't fit our King's Down either- the mattress is too thick! So- in the closet it waits until she gets her big girl bed!

Great for co-sleeping February 4, 2006 Reviewer:  New Mamma (Midwest, USA)  See all my reviews >

My husband and I recently purchased this item for our queen size bed. It's on the last (biggest setting) allowed, so beware if your queen size matress is on the plus size. The rail comes up about ten inches above the matress (our matress is nine inches thick) The rail is also easy to put down, so that's nice for daytime. Very good quality for the money. It was also relativley easy to put together if you read the instructions. I highly recommend for sleep sharing! As for the "don't use with bunk bed" comment... it says that right on the BACK OF THE BOX!!! Don't complain about this product if it's not even made for your type of bed. Take it back to the store and try another...if purchased online, ship it back, it's not that hard.

Hard to assemble, but worth it in the end! January 24, 2009 Reviewer:  Alex's Mom (North Carolina)  See all my reviews >

I bought this for my son a few days ago b/c he rolled off my bed in the middle of the night. I thought it was going to be a cinch to slap on my bed... boy was I wrong! It came in a thousand peices, and the directions weren't so great. But once I focused, they were easy to follow. But everything fits together so tightly that it was almost impossible for just me to assemble alone. But after some foul language and bruising, I got it all done and put on my bed after about an hour. It was definitely worth it b/c it's super snug and I can sleep easy now knowing my son is safe in bed next to me.

Easy to put together January 18, 2008 Reviewer:  J. Dominey Real Name (NC USA)  See all my reviews >

After reading the other reviews I was skeptical about buying this rail, but I'm glad I did. I put this rail together with my husband's help installing it. I could have done it all myself but enjoyed the company too much! I am currently 8 1/2 months pregnant and my only issue with the assembly of the rail was the size of my belly. If someone is having trouble putting the rail together or installing it, it's because they did not read the instructions. The instructions are easy to read and very easy to follow. It took us 30 minutes from opening the box to having the rail fully put together and installed. I would definitely recommend this product to my friends.

Hard to put together February 16, 2007 Reviewer:  MommyofSoonToBeTwo "Hilary" (Chicago, IL, USA)  See all my reviews >

Wow-I got this thinking it'd be a piece of cake for me to put together...boy was I wrong! The first thing they should say in the directions is that it is at minimum a two-person job and there was one step that three people would have been nice! Once it was put together, though, it's very sturdy and does the job quite nicely. It took me around an hour to put it together and my husband wasn't happy about having to help!
