Love these trays!

I bought these trays for freezing my son's baby food, but I'm also using them for breast milk too. I have no room in my freezer so it is nice that these are stackable. But the best part is the cube size - the baby food cubes are a perfect serving size and the cubes of breast milk ideal for making baby cereal and mixing with other baby food. I also use the breast milk cubes for top-off bottles, becuase they defrost so quickly. I recommend having two sets.

I bought these as a part of the baby food making kit sold by the same company.
These trays worked perfectly with the system - they are made of very good, durable material (trays won't crack like cheap ice trays), and both the trays and lids go through the dishwasher with no warping or discoloring. And after our daughter moved on to table food, we used they as regular ice trays - nice and covered, to you never have to worry about spills or crumbs getting in your ice!
We saved a TON of money making are own baby food for our first child, and I will be using these again for our second child (due any day now!)

When I first heard about people making homemade baby food, I thought that was CRAZY! I thought it was going to be very difficult and time-consuming, but it's actually very easy and fun. These trays help make it so easy. The food pops right out without sticking to the trays. I only purchased 2 sets (4 trays) when my daughter started eating solid foods, and that was fine when she was only eating 2 or 3 different things. But now that her menu is getting more diverse, I could probably use 1 or 2 more sets. Instead, I just make the food, put it in the trays to freeze, and then transfer the frozen food cubes to labeled plastic freezer bags. I've looked into other baby food freezer trays, and I think these are the best because they are the same size as regular ice trays (the other brand I found only had 7 spots), and they have a tight-sealing lid to prevent freezer-burn (as long as you don't overfill the spots). I hope this helps!

Good but not great for breastmilk storage

I haven't used the trays for freezing food yet since my baby is only 2 months, but I have started using these to freeze breastmilk. Here's what I have found:
Good things about this trays:
1. they are made of good quality, durable, thick material that is safe for breastmilk storage (no BP-A).
2. they are cheaper in the long run over expensive breastmilk storage bags
3. It's nice having small portions of milk to top off a bottle if necessary. There is less waste this way.
Cons:
1. Cubes do not measure one ounce, unless you pour breastmilk into entire tray to fill completely, which never happens.
2. A little bit of a pain to have to remove the cubes, which are tricky to get out of the tray, and then you have to move to a different storage system. (only keep the milk/food in these overnight or until frozen. I then use regular plastic freezer bags to store the cubes, and I keep these bags in a large container for more freezer protection).
3. I worry about sterilizaton, since you can't sterilize these, but only wash with warm water and soap.
So I would say these aren't the best way to collect breastmilk, but they will do. I have a feeling they'll be absolutely fabulous when it comes time to making food.

A splurdge

These are the Cadillac of ice cube trays. They are incredibly thick, have great fitting lids and wash amazingly well in the top rack of your dishwasher. If you plan on breast feeding or making your own baby food, they are a splurge for sure, but nice to have. I would definitely register for them to get as a shower gift. But as far as spending that much on them myself, I probably wouldn’t. My son is 11 months old, and I’ve been making his baby food since he was 6 months old. I only received one set of these trays, and so had to buy regular ice cube trays to supplement in order to keep up with the demand of my little guy’s appetite, and my need to make food in bulk. Regular ice cube trays work just fine. You have to cover them with plastic wrap but it works just fine if you plan on transferring the frozen cubes to plastic bags for storage anyways. [...]

These ice cubes do NOT measure 1-ounce. Save the $4 more they cost and get any ice cube tray with a lid that will serve the same purpose.
The idea is good. Execution is not.

FEEZER BURN

For the most part, this is a great product and has been useful. I used this to store milk for 2 weeks.( over the holiday I didnt have work) So the day before work I defrosted the milk the same way as usual and my chid would not take the milk. I looked at the other container and noticed the feezer burn on the top of each and every cube! Overall, very useful, just do not use for extended storage!

I have just started using these but have been happy so far. They seem to be very durable and I love the fact that each "ice cube" is a 1 oz portion, so I don't have to worry about how much or how little I am feeding my baby. The only caution I have is to be careful about dishwasher use and make sure to put the lids on the top rack so that they don't warp!

I have been using these trays for 2 weeks now to store my breastmilk. I pump the milk, freeze in these trays, then take the cubes and store them in quart sized freezer bags. My husband loves to sit up with the baby at night and the ease of using the cubes for night feedings really impressed him, this allows me to get a few hours sleep at night, while he bonds with our son. I would most definately suggest any breatfeeding family invest in these. They are much easier to use than the little bags I used 10 years ago with my first son.

these trays get used nonstop in our house as there's always a new batch of purees to freeze. seems to be a good product and BPA-free, however the cubes are small (not a big deal, you just use more) and the lid unfortunately doesn't protect from freezer burn. recommended.
