the good & the bad of it March 22, 2007 Reviewer:  kittykathy (Hazel Dell, Washington)  See all my reviews >

i wanted cobalt blue, but target sadly does not stock it.

the attraction for me was separation segments that can make it faster & easier to wash many fruits & veggies at once. the fact that the lid can be used to seal it for travel, & that the huge bowl can be used for serving is a plus also.

however, the stop design is a flaw. as the oxo brand does, the plunger is pushed down fast & hard to make the basket spin the dirty water away. unlike the oxo & zyliss ones, however, which use a separate stop button, the kitchenaid brand does not have a separate button. if you push down too far while pumping it to go faster, it will come to an abrupt halt!! this makes it very frustating.

i recommend the zyliss model for fastness & fun. it comes in a small size for fruits. the large model, unfortunately is not as large as the kitchenaid.

unless the size & separation segments are needed, don't bother with this product. :(

I LOVE THIS PRODUCT! October 20, 2008 Reviewer:  Truly Blessed! "Jessica Sisson" (Mogadore, OH, USA)  See all my reviews >

I'm a little confused why others don't seem to like it as well as I do. As long as it is used properly, it works great! The "abrupt halt" if you push to hard, hasn't happened to me as I have never pushed it down that far. There is no need to. If the lid is put on it straight and lined up with the lips, it will close nicely.
The purpose of a spinner is to throroughly dry your fruit and greens. It does just that, and quite well, I might add. Everything tastes more crisp and fresh. I especially like the sections that allows me to keep my items seperate

Poor Example of Rubbermaid May 15, 2008 Reviewer:  Bruce Wayne (Oklahoma)  See all my reviews >

Bought spinner on 4/4/08. Was very hard to spin and the last time we used it, the plunger broke. I'm taking it back and getting another kind.

Did Not Last September 13, 2009 Reviewer:  Sarah S. (San Diego)  See all my reviews >

I bought this item and it worked great for awhile. The central plunger broke after a few months so I was sorry that I paid what I had for it. Definitely not worth the purchase. I needed to replace it within the year.

Another Use July 14, 2009 Reviewer:  Happy Dad "Joel B." (Los Angeles, CA)  See all my reviews >

I'm giving this spinner 5 stars because I found that other than being able to use it to spin and mix my salads, I can also use it to set my newborn's bottles to dry. Not only that, when I set the bottles standing up in the spinner and by spinning all the bottles I am able to remove all the excess water from every bottle!! Wait, there's more, I also leave the bottles in the spinner with its lid to protect them from the mosquitoes that occasionally fly around the fruit basket by the sink. I have found an use for it that didn't imagine it would have when I first bought it.

Great if you host potlucks or large dinners often October 17, 2008 Reviewer:  GoMetacomet (Western Massachusetts)  See all my reviews >

The best thing about this spinner is its size--you can fit salad for six in this. But that's also its downfall: This spinner is so large it's cumbersome, so I end up using my cheapy small one when I'm not cooking for a crew. It IS cute to look at, though, and if you spin salad once a week, you can store it in this container and tag off it for days afterward. Which, you know, can be a good thing.

Worst [amount of money] I've spent in a long time September 14, 2008 Reviewer:  ** "**" (**)  See all my reviews >

For something made entirely of plastic, the price is outrageous, but in my area, there was nothing else to buy, so I bought it. The "lock" down stem didn't stay locked and would spring free suddenly with such force it broke stuff in my fridge. Target and KitchenAide should be ashamed of selling this product.

It's mostly just a dryer July 10, 2008 Reviewer:  Country Girl (Upstate N.Y.)  See all my reviews >

I like it, it does what it needs to for the most part. I like how it's big, and you can use the bowl as a storage bowl. But the storage bowl collects the runoff water, so you need to empty it before use. What I dislike it you can't add running water into the bowl to wash the stuff as you are spinning (like the five dollar spinner I have allows). You need to first wash the stuff by hand in the bowl, then put the lid on and spin to dry. So it is pretty much just a dryer, not a washer like I thought it'd be. It's probably not worth the price, but I haven't tried any others except for the cheapy one I already have that really isn't comparable.

This is a very cheap product for Rubbermaid. It broke with a little pressure on it-don't buy this one!

Good Multi purpose spinner June 14, 2008 Reviewer:  Shopaholic "Barb" (Modesto, CA, USA)  See all my reviews >

I like that it holds up to 6 quarts and has three removable dividers allowing you to wash and spin more than one item. I think that the spinner is easy to use as long as you don't pump the handle to fast. I think it does the job nicely and I like how it also can be used as a serving bowl. I don't think that storage is a good idea for salad because it won't stay fresh but it would be ok for certain items that don't need to be kept air tight because the bowl is not an airtight container for storage. I think it is great when used as a salad spinner and serving bowl so it is still multi purpose. Anything multi purpose like this helps in the kitchen. In my opinion I think it is better than the other salad spinners out there and does everything it says it does. Nice features and looks good too.
