This desk is gorgeous at first glance. The top has a neat pattern that looks expensive and well crafted. The color is awesome, warm and medium toned. Unfortunately the packaging was insufficient to avoid the two back corners from breaking off. We would return it because it absolutely can't be hidden, but they're sold out. It was at that point we realized the top is made of a pressed paper material, not hardwood with veneers. We're hoping Target has replacements in backstock for bad deliveries. If yours arrives unbroken, I think you'll enjoy the design, color and finish. Just be gentle with it.

I was in need of a small but functional desk to use for my home office. The space taken up couldn't be too big but the surface of the desk couldn't be too small either. This desk is well made, quite attractive, sturdy and has ample space to put my laptop, notes, papers, etc. It is a bit pricey but I am completely satisfied. Also the drawer is bigger than you would expect and also quite functional.

Yes, the desk is pretty and looks nice but the factory in China was a little too eager to get these out the door. when mine arrived, first thing I noticed as I unpacked it was the styrofoam was awful secure. As I got more into it I realized it was actually stuck to the wood. It seems they couldn't wait for the stain to dry before packing so now the top has a combo styro/wood look to it. Plus, one corner was caved in. Unfortunately it will be going back.

Although it took a while for the desk to arrive, it was even better looking in person than I had expected. Total assembly time was 10 - 15 minutes, and the end result is a sturdy, attractive piece of furniture.

I looked for a couple of weeks and finally decided on this desk. I am very happy with it so far. Target shipping was super fast! I received it within a week of ordering it. It arrived in great shape and took all of ten minutes to assemble. All you have to do is attach the legs. I love the large drawer. It slides easily and holds all of my home office supplies. The finish on the desk was better than I expected. It is a little smaller than I expected though. I only have my laptop with peripherals attached. I have an all-in-one printer that I sat on top of my two drawer file cabinet so I wouldn't feel cramped. The desk works perfectly for me. I am very happy with the purchase and the super fast shipping!

I received the desk and hutch as a gift and I am very pleased with it. After reading some reviews I was a bit sceptacle, but I was unable to find another that I liked as much as this one. It is larger than expected and has a nice amount of space to work on. I use it for my laptop and general office supply storage. One thing that drew me to the desk is the fact that it has an actual drawer. It is nearly impossible to find a desk of this size with a storage drawer, because they all have the pull-out keyboard trays which is useless for a laptop. It has a beautiful finish with nice details and curves, and adds a traditional feel to any room. Great buy!

I was a little worried when I ordered this desk because of some of the older reviews. However, it arrived within the time specified and it took all of 10 minutes to assemble it. There were no scratches or dents, just had to wipe off the regular dust and styrofoam dust after assembling. I would definitely recommend this desk to anyone and buy it again in a heartbeat. The desktop has so much available workspace!

I've had this desk for a year now and it's great. The only thing I don't like is that it scratches easly if you're not careful. And the shipping was two weeks late! Nonetheless its really nice. I also have the hutch and the file cabinet. Easy assembly.

We are replacing all of our Hurricane Katrina ravaged furniture in St. Bernard Parish, LA. This piece is for my daughter's bedroom (teen). It's absolutely beautiful, was easy to put together, and the perfect size. Very elegant. Worth the $$$.
