Leaks Oil April 7, 2008 Reviewer:  Shelley B. See all my reviews >

I received a kitchenaid mixer in 2004 for a wedding gift and used it several times a year. This month, during normal use I noticed oil dripping out of the mixer into the bowl. I researched repair info for this and found this to be a common problem costing about $130 to repair. The company advises that the mixer be run at least monthly to prevent this, and after one year the warranty expires. I put this item on my registry hoping it would last a lifetime, and feel that most normal people wouldn't know to use their mixer monthly to prevent this.

Fantastic September 5, 2007 Reviewer:  Caroline E. Holley "Texican" Real Name (Carrollton, TX)  See all my reviews >

I have had this mixer for years, and it works just like the day I bought it. My grandmother's mixer is at least 40 yrs old and working great, no repairs or problems. Motor never overheats, potatoes, cookies, cakes are great. Everyone at work thinks my cakes are homemade - just a box mix and the KitchenAid mixer!

I'm sorry to dissapoint everyone......... July 14, 2007 Reviewer:  Family of 7 "J. H." (MN)  See all my reviews >

I have owned this KA for 10 years now. I wanted to give it a 4 for many reasons, but I have to add this word of frustration that I have come back to over and over again. This mixer does not do double batches well at all!! We have a large family, and though a single batch of bread, cookies, biscuits, etc works like a charm, anytime I double, I have flour and liquid seeping out the sides - EVEN with the shield. Tonight I made buttermilk biscuits for a large group, and the motor nearly burned out and dough was leaping up over the shield and out the top. Along with the flour that had already pummeled itself out and onto my flour and countertop in globs, the project was a complete mess to clean up. Dough shield. Terrible. I cannot add ingredients without hitting the the top of the mixer while the shield is on. I have to stop the machine, lift the head (which also hits the shield depending the position of the beater), there is just no room in this mixer for me. I AM the lone dissenter here, but I will give this piece of advice. If you need to bake in large quantities, this mixer will not do for you. And as far as the shield. It's more trouble than it's worth. Sorry for bursting bubbles, wish I liked it better.............

KitchenAid, my KitchenStandard December 21, 2006 Reviewer:  Magpie (Louisville, KY)  See all my reviews >

I LOVE this mixer! I have had a KitchenAid mixer in the past, but just the 4 1/2 quart white version which worked great, but looked kind of boring. KitchenAid has done well with it's color choices, this bright apple green rocks! A modern twist on a timeless classic. As far as the mechanics, what can I say other than KitchenAid has become my standard for quality kitchen appliances. Never in my life have I had a problem with anything KitchenAid, and thus have begun to equip my kitchen with just about everything KitchenAid I can find. Any time something else kicks the bucket, I replace it with a KitchenAid. I am a hard person to please, so the slightest malfunction of a product may turn me sour on a whole brand. Therefore, this is not just a rave review. KitchenAid is a name you can trust.

awesome! December 26, 2007 Reviewer:  Happy Bride (Buffalo, NY, USA)  See all my reviews >

I received this item as a wedding gift, and it is awesome! It works great! I love how you can mix stuff and walk away and do other things while it is mixing. I can not say enough about Kitchen Aid. My stand mixer actually stopped working after I had it about 5 months, and I called the company and they sent me a whole new unit! [...]

Overkill for most March 17, 2008 Reviewer:  So-U-Kno "-V-" (Maryland)  See all my reviews >

Unless you really, seriously bake often and have plenty of space in your kitchen, this item is not worth the space and money.
My main issue with the mixer is that stainless quality right now is very LOW in general due to high demand and the rising cost of the main metal used to make it stainless (molybdenum). This makes it inconvenient to clean, and in my opinion there's nothing worse than slaving over a dish for hours and then having to clean it all by hand. Things tend to get stuck under the rim if you leave it to the dishwasher.
So, I would say the mixer is everything it ought to be, just a hassle to clean. I tend to go for my handheld mixer instead.

I love this baby! November 24, 2008 Reviewer:  A. Krause Real Name (Buffalo, NY)  See all my reviews >

I've grown up using a kitchen aid mixer, and i registered for an artisan mixer in metallic chrome (this color hides the dust well) for my wedding last year. I'll be honest, I will still use a hand mixer for small tasks like whipping heavy cream, egg whites, or even simple mixes since it's easier to throw two beaters in the dishwasher. But this machine is indispensable when it comes to anything more than that. I let it do all the hard work when it comes to pizza/bread dough, heavy bar cookies with oatmeal, brown sugar and other dense ingredients, and biscotti. Don't even think about using a hand mixer for biscotti.

love it August 12, 2008 Reviewer:  M. McKenzie (Waco, TX)  See all my reviews >

We received this mixer as a wedding gift and we love it! We use it all the time, in place of a regular hand mixer, and it makes everything more even. Especially with baking, this mixer makes everything lighter--I would definitely recommend it!

Awesome November 14, 2007 Reviewer:  M. Burau Real Name See all my reviews >

What else can you say? I'd recommend getting the cover that's sold seperately. It'll keep the dust off between uses.

Awesome Mixer! July 30, 2007 Reviewer:  Ann Marie "AM" (Chattanooga TN)  See all my reviews >

I have owned my Kitchen Aid for 16 years and it is still as great as ever. My grandmother, now 91, has the first Kitchen Aid Mixer and it is still going strong. What an awesome machine. The best on the market!
