i bought this can opener and it works horribly. it takes quite a few attempts to open a can on the first try b/c it has to latch perfectly!!! would NEVER recommend!!

This is one can opener that does not open cans - at least not if you expect to be able to do it on the first, second, or fifth tries. Even my mother's 20-year-old can opener works better than this. Not recommended - a waste of money.

I have had this can opener for well over 2 years now and I have NEVER had a problem with it! It opens cans just fine! It is not difficult for me to use at all (23 yr old female), and I love the snap-lock feature. I am buying another one for my brother to take to college.

My daughter was visiting from Germany and she has wrist problems. You know what that means. My OXO is now in Germany. We've had it for years and it has worked great for years. Will purchase another as soon as I can get to the store!

Well worth the money. This is by far the best manual can opener I've ever used. My children have had difficulty in the past opening cans, but this one is super-easy for them. I would highly recommend this to anyone.

I bought the Michael Graves can opener last week. A pretty tool, but absolutely useless. Returning it today I bought this nifty, lightweight Oxo opener. It's perfect! Easy on the hand, smooth, and I love the snap lock. I can't imagine not giving it a perfect review.

I have actually had trouble with this can opener and I really don't think you should have difficulty using a can opener! If you push down on the top of it in order to get it to lock on the can, it works fine but otherwise it does not attach to the can correctly. I had better luck with my 3.00 can opener that had rusted.

I am shocked at the negative reviews for this product. I absolutely love this can opener. The snap-lock is the best feature and I wish all kitchen gadgets had similar snap-locks on them. The lock keeps the can opener in place, hence it never slips off of the can like so many other can openers do. I also find this opener to cut open can lids evenly and completely -- no partially cut sections that require going around the can one more time. The handle turns easily, which is a blessing as my arthritic hands are not that strong. I highly recommend this item and plan on buying several to give as gifts. Don't be set off by the negative reviews; try this product, I think you will be pleased with it.
