I really liked the look of the lamp in the store, but when I got it home, I could see that it is quite cheaply made. None of the pieces quite lined up right to screw together, which resulted in a very crooked and wobbly lamp. The shade also seemed pretty flimsy. It is going back to the store.

The lamp shade is not designed for the heat produced by two 150 watt bulbs. The areas nearest the two bulbs melted within minutes. Shame. It's an elegant lamp, but it just doesn't work as advertised. I recommend buying something else.

This lamp is awful, it is stripped where it should screw togather and unless you are a welder good luck getting it to stand up straight. Waste of money. Very disappointed.

If I could give 0 stars, I would. We had this less than 2 months and we started noticing smoke coming from the top... at first we thought a bug had flown in there. But then it wouldn't stop and upon inspection, we couldn't see anything causing the smoke. And every time we would turn it on, the smoke and horrible burning plastic smell would happen. Then, next day, when we had more time to investigate ... we tried to turn it on.... the knob would not turn. So it must have been the switch that was melting. We used 2 150-wt bulbs just like the instructions say ... just like it says to use on the lamp right where you screw the bulbs on. now, the lamp won't turn on at all. A big waste of money down the tube. Target needs to stop carrying this lamp -- I wish I would have seen these reviews before I was at the store trying to decide on which lamp to buy.

I recieved this as a wedding gift (it wasn't even on my registry) and it doesn't screw together correctly. It is obviously a manufacturers defect and Target will do nothing to ix the problem. Now I'm stuck with a lamp that cost someone in my family nearly [.....]and we can't even use it. Not to mention Targets AWFUL policy on returns! You can't ask someone for a gift reciept...you just cant. Thats so rude I can't even begin to describe it.
I wouldn't buy this lamp. The shade looks cheap and the thing doesn't even screw together correctly.

I'm still trying to figure out why anyone would need 2 150 watt light bulbs?!?!

This lamp is great for the price. It looks elegant and i love the lamp shade. The colors match perfect with our dark wood furniture. We have 2- 60 watt energy saver light bulbs on it and it lights the whole living room.

I recommend it!

I use this lamp in my bedroom, and it has served me well for over a year now. I am picking up another for my living room. You will not beat this lamp for the price.

I had this lamp for a few months when I couldn't turn it off one day. I unplugged it from the wall and had my boyfriend take a look at it later in the day. He plugged it back in and attempted to turn the on/off switch which promptly caught fire singing his hand and causing the whole house to smell like smoke for two days. Luckily there was no further damage. Stay clear of this one!

I don't understand some of these reviews.. I've own this lamp for two years and haven't had smoke come from the top or anything.. I haven't even replaced the bulb yet.. sounds like a lot of user error lol

We were looking for a replacement lamp for a dark corner. The best feature is you can use two 150-watt bulbs. Even using two 100-watters really lit the corner. The mica shade gives the light a nice, warm clow.

This does have a plain base and the mica shade is not super-high quality, but for the cost, it's perfect.
