great little pot

We purchased one of these in 2004. It brewed so quickly we were amazed. Makes a great little pot of coffee. The thermal pot is great for people like us who love to drink our coffee outside or in the shop and hate running into the house for a refill. Also, we are such clutzes that it was nice not to have to worry about breaking it. I only wished it made at least ten cups, as one pot wasn't quite enough. I loved the lid on the model we had. I checked the new model today and didn't like the lid on the current model.
The only problem I ever had with this model was the way we had to be SO careful not to overfill the reservoir. We resorted to keeping it on a tray, as we were always flooding our counter. Alas, I killed ours last week when I got carried away cleaning it and somehow got water into the controls. BTW- I don't like to use soap on my coffee makers, so I rinse them and occasionally clean them with denture-cleaning tablets (I don't have dentures, but they are so great for cleaning things).

I received this as a bridal shower gift. I love it! It looks good in my kitchen, brews quickly and quietly, and is easy to use. I love to program it to brew as I wake up in the morning, and can just go grab a cup and be on my way. I love the feature that allows me to "sneak a cup" before it's done brewing, and it doesn't even leak. It's also nice how it automatically shuts off after brewing, and keeps the coffee hot in the carafe. I would recommend to anyone!

Great Coffe Maker

This is a great coffeemaker. It does the job you want it to do , brew great coffee. I have used it constantly , 7 days a week in fact. If you just follow the directions and hand wash the stainless steel pot and filter holder you shouldn‘t have an issue. The timer works great too. I set it at night and when I wake up I have fresh hot coffee. Yes it does keep it hot. Just recently I brewed my coffee enjoyed a cup then had to run out for about 4 hours. I came back and pored the coffee in a cup and it was still hot. I couldn’t believe it. This coffeemaker is a great little coffeemaker. Also you cannot submerge the stainless steel pot into water because the water will go into the handle and fill up thus causing people to think it was leaking at the seam from the inside when actually it wasn't. It was the water it collected in the handle. So just wash it with running water and you will be fine.

I'll agree with other people on here, not the hottest coffee, but I wanted a carafe. Haven't run into the less and less brewing issue yet.
My Problem? The thing that drives me nuts about this coffee pot is that it's incredibly easy to get the filter/pot in incorrectly. The filter basket can sit just a little off kilter. This results in the little stopper that allows you to pour while you're brewing to not engage. As a result, the filter basket fills with coffee/grounds then proceeds to leak over the top and down the sides of the pot, the counter, the floor and wherever else. In short, it makes a huge mess of your kitchen.
Granted I could be more careful, but a lifetime of properly working coffee pots has not trained me to stand around and watch each cup as it brews. Cleaning up half my kitchen a couple times has corrected that behavior, however.

When I received the coffeemaker I was very pleased. The only problem I had was reading the instruction. I had to read it couple time to see how it work. Soon I figure it out it work fine. Also the only problem I have is soon the coffee is made it turns off. It doesn't stay on so the coffee could stay warm in the pot.

Dissappointed Coffee Brewer....

Like so many other coffee makers we've purchased over the years, this B&D model worked fine for a few months and then started to both leak AND stopped brewing ALL the water in the cycle. Why is it we can send a spaceship to Mars but can't build a reliable coffee maker on this planet!
Frustrated coffee lover in Chicago!

The pot leaks!

Understand that I'm NOT the coffee drinker in our house so as far as the quality of the coffee, I can't comment on. My hubby likes his coffee black, but fairly weak. The pot where the metal & plastic meet leaks! This is SUPER annoying. We rarely make coffee so it's not a huge deal. Just annoying. It keeps the coffee hot a LONG time. I made some one morning and it was late afternoon before I remembered to clean the pot & it was still hot enough to drink. I like that you can program it to come on the next day if you want to.

I don't normally write these reviews...but wanted to save you from what I'm going through.
I've always hand washed the pot/lid and 2 months in it started leaking where the plastic meets the metal around the rim. Now, each time I make coffee I have to be ready to clean up the mess.
I haven't caught the leak in time a few times and it's going towards the digital unit. I'm sure eventually the unit will suffer from the leak. I know it looks pretty and if you don't make coffee often then maybe it'll be okay for you. I generally make 2-3 pots a week.
I wouldn't recommend it to anyone...if I had to pay $10 or $20 more, do it...it will be worth it in the long run.

Good Price, But Not The Best Coffee

This coffee pot does not keep coffee warm for any longer than a standard glass pot. It doesn't make very hot coffee to begin with, so the coffee is weak and we have to add extra grounds. I haven't had any problems with the lid leaking like other reviewers. We've had it for a year and I'm already looking for something better.
