As much as I resisted getting one of these, cuz its pretty ugly and storing it in the kitchen, I have to admit its a good idea and sometimes a life-saver. We've killed a mouse with it, turned off very sensitive smoke alarms and replaced batteries in them (only to take them out again and again), dusted fans, changed light bulbs, and in our most recent adventure, my husband caught a moth that made its way into the kitchen.

This is very sturdy and well balanced so one can use it without fear of falling and/or being off balance. It is a great height so I can now replace all my ceiling bulbs with energy efficient ones. One cannot go wrong purchasing this product.
