This can opener is supposed to mount with its front edge flush with the front of the cabinet. But, in cabinets where the underside is recessed (which seems to be standard) there is no way to mount the can opener flush with the cabinet front, and the handle does not swing up all the way. This is a serious design flaw that makes the can opener much harder to use than it should be. The thickness of the front overhang on our cabinet is 3/4" thick but it looks like the can opener cannot accept anything over 1/4" thick. CHECK YOUR CABINET BEFORE YOU BUY!!

I love this canopener. The installation was very easy. There is no trouble with under cabinet depth because the can opener has spacers that can be used to add clearance above the can opener itself to allow the handle more than enough room to open and attach to cans. I know the instructions stated to mount at the very front of the cabinet; we mounted ours further back closer to the plug and it still works great.

We thought we were replacing the one we already had but
this model from Black & Decker will not fit in the same
area. This one is made for different cabinets that are not
flush. Could not raise the leaver without it hitting
the cabinet.
Returned to store as requested and difference for ordering an item that did not fit.
Will not order on line since you can't see the item and
costs more to return.

This can opener works perfectly with my kitchen decor. I like having it under the cabinet instead of on the countertop. It operates nicely and was a great buy.

I purchased this to replace a very ancient and reliable B&D Spacemaker can opener. I cannot get a can to open with this. The cutting wheel is CONSIDERABLY smaller than the original. I have to use a handheld opener. This is a piece of JUNK!!! DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!

I never write reviews but this product is so bad that I did not want anyone else to go through this. The motor inside the can opener was not able to handle opening a can. The motor would sound like it was going to die and most of the time it was unable to open a can. We called black and deck to find out what we could do and they gave us the run around!! I think we just got hold of a bad can opener but if I was you I would NOT chance it. Look for another product.

Item odered and paid for three weeks ago but never rec'd. I sent an email last week the reply was that it is being shipped have not rec'd the spacemaker can opener as of yet.
