I was thrilled with this vacuum the first couple of months. The suction is fantastic, the attachments great, though a little short. However, as time went on it has lost so much suction. To empty the dirt cup you really have to stick your hand out and dig it all out, it's pretty gross. You really can't clean the filter so it loses suction. I have had to replace the belt 5 times since I got this 8 months ago. To make matters worse, it has now started spitting stuff out of the back and the front. It left several black stains that even my steam cleaner can not get up. More harm than good. Don't waste your money.

I bought this vacuum when I moved back into my parents house, that has been empty for 3 years. This vacuum did a wonderful job picking up dust and dirt that has been building up for years. It even pickd up deep down old pet hair, that I never knew was still in the carpet. An the automatic cord rewind is AWESOME!!! The cord never gets all tangled like past vacuums my parents have purchased. If you don't have a lot of money, or have never bought a vacuum before in your life. This is the vacuum to buy, for the first time buyer. Love this Vacuum!!!

When the cleaning lady managed to break the Dyson, I was looking for a short term replacement while it was being repaired. I like this one so much I never have bothered to get the Dyson repaired. The Hoover has powerful suction, a great stairs attachment so you don't have to try to powerlift the entire vacuum and a lower profile that doesn't nick up my cabinets like the Dyson does. Only thing I don't like is the shorter cord. For the money, a terrific vacuum.

I have had this vacuum since October of last year and it is GREAT!!! I have read the reviews left by people and they must not have read the owners manual. It tells you to clean the filters monthly if used regularly, and to use the brush attachment to brush them off. I have a VERY MESSY 20 month old, an 8 year old, and a husband that works in commercial construction. I use this vacuum ATLEAST once a day, but most days twice or more. We use it on our carpet and hard floors. Our house is almost 2200 sqr. feet, and I vacuum the kitchen, breakfast nook, entry, and living room daily, and I haven't had any suction problems. I just brush off both filters monthly like directed in the manual. It sucks up whole goldfish daily, and while I was writing this review my 20 month old used a toy to pull the sugar bowl off the counter and I just vacuumed up the sugar!!!! I've always had Hoover vacuums and this one is great. The furniture attachment gets used weekly to vacuum the living room furniture and the spinning brush is great!!!! The straight attachment is great for baseboards too!!! Just follow the maintenence instructions given to you by Hoover and it's a GREAT vacuum!!!!!!!!!

After 10 uses - LOUD AND USELESS. The vacuum seems to have suction but doesn't pick up anything off the floor. So disappointed.

I guess you get what you pay for. When this came in the mail it was the best vacuum ever! We moved into a new place and it had just been professionally cleaned. This vacuum was full of dirt that you couldn't ever see. It worked well for 6 months...then I realized it had no suction. So then the messy part you have to put the filter in a plastic bag and knock all the crap out. Then I took a toothbrush and scraped out more dirt. Then after I put it back together it was awesome again, for 3 more cleanings. Then it got clogged faster and faster. And about a year into owning it, it smells like burning. The belts are fine, so we can only assume the motor is going out. Because it's cheap on other retailers I would say it's a pretty good disposable vacuum. If you are looking for a commitment, go elsewhere.

If you vacuum more than once a week this vacuum is not for you. I bought the elite a year ago and a month after the warenty expired the motor died. It was only a good vacuum for about six months and then it stopped picking up.

DON'T BUY THIS PRODUCT!!!!! Unless you like buying a new vacuum every few months.

This vacuum was used less than 10 times and it broke down and started smoking.

Don't waste your money on another North American Free Trade HOOVER product. The only reason they put a Rewind cord was to make it more convenient when you throw it away...LOL.

Trust me this is junk!!! SHAME ON TARGET FOR OFFERING THIS PRODUCT IN THEIR MARKETPLACE!!!

I love this vacuum!! I couldn't believe how much it actually picked up. We have three cats and a puppy and it picked up fur like crazy!! WOW, And to empty it was really easy for me.No problems with my asthma when I emptied it. I am going to make sure to empty it after each use like other people suggested.
