Bobbin jams September 4, 2008 Reviewer:  Karen Lesser "not martha" Real Name (Anaheim CA USA)  See all my reviews >

I read the manual first, then I spent 4 hours last night trying (on a piece of scrap fabric) to adjust the tension of the bobbin and the needle thread. I tried every conceivalble combination of tensions. The bobbin thread is always loose, gets tangled, and breaks continually. I had my husband read the manual and play around with it too, just to check that I wasn't missing something. This one is going back.

Jams continually April 8, 2009 Reviewer:  Frustrated "Ruth H" (Iowa)  See all my reviews >

My husband bought the Shark Sew Simple 50 for me for my birthday in October. I hadn't used it much for the first 4 months, but knew once we started to travel, I would be using it a lot.
For the past 6-7 weeks, I have been doing a lot of sewing on it. I have been so frustrated. I love the design and the 50 stitches, but it jams all the time. I can't sew for more than 10-15 minutes and I have to re-adjust the bobbin then it will jam or break or pick up lots and lots of thread underneath and make a mess and I have to tear out the seams and start over.
Does anyone have any ideas of what to do with it to fix it. I am wondering if it is a design flaw all the way around and can't be fixed. My experience with sewing machine maintenance in the past has been that it costs nearly as much to fix than this machine cost brand new.
Signed,
Frustrated!!!

i have had this machine for less then a year and have only used it twice. the bobbin thread stopped catching and i took it in to have someone look at it. it will cost be $ just to fix it!! (the timing is way off) its just unbelievable and i might as well buy a whole new machine instead of waste money on this one. will never buy a shark again!

BAD will never buy shark again! August 30, 2009 Reviewer:  mad cathy "Catherine" (Bloomingdale, NJ)  See all my reviews >

This is my 2nd shark sewing machane from target! I returned the 1st machine when it started jaming and not wanting to sew! It takes alot of pressue on the foot to get the needle to budge! I can sometimes have it all the way down and the moter with make a load noise but not move! Now Im on the 2nd one! The machine works great for the first 3 months and than the same crap starts all over again! The loud humming sound, the needle jamming, and needles breaking, and much more! I am trying to runn a business with making childrens clothing and having to fuss with this piece of crap delays my product going out! I will never buy Shark again and I will never buy a sewing machine again from Target because there protection plan BAD!
