Mmmm...Burnt Poptarts!

I bought this item because it was "cheap." By cheap, I mean [inexpensive]. I had to return it because the color of the display model and the color of the toaster on the box were black, so I had naturally assumed the unit in the box would be the same...Nope!
Anywho, after I spent about $10 driving all over town attempting to find a black toaster, I finally got it!
I like my toast LIGHT, but toasted...So I set the dial on three. My toast came out much darker than expected. I thought that maybe it was due to the fact it had never been used before, so I put a delicious Cherry Poptart into the belly of the beast. I again set the shiny dial at 3 and waited for the results.
The corners and top of my Cherry Poptart had turned to the color of coal. Plus, the whole house now smells like burnt plastic from my crappy toaster... : (
Hey, I guess there are college students in other states with no toaster, so I guess I'm happy to have burnt poptarts.

I bought this toaster because I liked the retractable power cord and because it is inexpensive. It did turn the toast black the first couple of uses. I have used it several times since and it works great. I do not like the bagel option. It seems to burn bagels. I prefer to toast my bagel on the regular setting. This toaster is replaceing a Krupps toaster and I had a KithchenAid before that...didn't like the bagel setting with them either. When the toast is done it still sits in the basket. You need to push up the lever to get it out. I like this because the food stays warm until I get it. The way I go though toasters...I'm getting wise...Good toast doesn't have to be expensive.
As for the style...I like that it's black w/the silver accents...modern...easy to keep clean. I do leave in on the counter(children are more likely to fend for themselves if they see a toaster). It's small...so, it's easy to put in the cabinet when I want my counter place. Let's not forget that retractable cord!!!
I gave it 4 out of 5 because of the bagel setting. Though I find it a problem with every toaster I have used with the same option...I feel that things should work the way they are intended.

I bought this toaster just wanting something simple. I am quite happy with it. Holds a wider piece of bread just fine. I usually set the level down to 1 or 2 the first time just to make sure I don't burn my toast. Every toaster is a bit different. I like the cancel button. Hit that when you think it's done and it pops up, no problems.
Retractable cord is a nice touch! Overall decent toaster if you're not looking for anything fancy.

This toaster is great and it has a great price. It does everything the expensive toasters do - it toasts! What a concept! Make sure the toaster setting is at 2 or less to start or until you get used to the settings. I have purchased more expensive toasters in the past and decided that I would try a more affordable one this time. I'm glad I did!

This toaster burns one side of the bread and barely toasts the other side. When I returned the product the customer service representative indicated they receive a lot of returns on this product for the same reason. Loved the retractable cord.

I have read past reviews and have seen some bad ones. I was hesitant about buying this one but decided to chance it. It works better than my previous toaster that cost a lot more. I just keep my setting at 3 and my toast comes out fine. I did have to work with the toaster a few tries before I got my setting just right. I would recommend this toaster to other people.

I thought this would be a great no frills toaster for our everyday toasting needs. It burned everything even on the lowest setting. I don't recommend this toaster to anyone.

I bought this toaster about 6 months ago looking for something inexpensive and reliable. I also liked the fact that it is so compact. Inexpensive, yes, reliable, no way. The button that is supposed to hold the toast down stopped working at the 6 month point.
