My mom bought this blender combo for me after my Braun (rated the top blender by CR) died only a year and a half after I purchased it. My favorite thing about the blender is, of course, the glass jar. The food processor addition seems like a good idea, but it didn't impress me. It is made of plastic, and the lid was bothersome. The lid on the blender also drove me crazy since it doesn't fit tightly, but the middle part that you are supposed to be able to take out to add ingredients would NOT come apart. I decided I could live with those annoyances, but then after two or three uses, the blender started to leak. I kept using it because I thought I may have been doing something wrong (entirely possible!), and I also really needed a blender. I use it up to three times DAILY to make baby formula, egg pancakes, soups, etc. I don't remember using it for ice, so I cannot attest to its ice-crushing capabilities. The different speeds did not make me like or dislike it anymore. Some of the speeds seemed to be the exact same thing (the pitch of the noise didn't change at all). I ended up taking it back and getting a more expensive blender (Oster Classic), so we'll see how it measures up. All in all, I'd say it's a decent blender - especially for the price (ours happened to be on sale at the time).

I purchased this blender based on the reputation of Oster. When i brought the blender home and started to us it for the first time, I began to smell the sweet smell of electrical smoke. In addition, I saw smoke coming out from under the base. I called Target to return the product. The staff at the store was very polite and helpful in getting my refund. Even though I chose to take a refund, the courteous manner in which the refund was handled is the main reason I will continue to shop at Target.

I received this as a wedding present - I registered for it after reading the reviews. I use both the food processor and the blender. We make smoothies and milkshakes all the time. It works great for me, definitely recommend it!

I bought this blender yesterday from Target based on the reviews. Before I go any further, THIS BLENDER ROCKS!!!! Read further for details. I already had a 10-speed Hamilton Beach blender that I bought from Target before...it was a piece of junk and didn't blend anything (admittedly, I was trying to be cheap when I bought it).

Anyway, I needed a blender and a food processor and was hoping I could buy a high power blender that wasn't too pricey that had the power to handle food processing capabilities as well...

BINGO! This Oster 12-Speed is TOP NOTCH! Not only does it come with the food processor add-on, but in truth the blender works so well you really don't even need the food proc. add-on! I blended up pomegranate seeds and strained to make fresh juice, then I blended frozen pear chunks in frozen pomegranate juice to make delicious sorbet (smoothies would be a BREEZE!)...
***(GREAT TIP FOR ANY AND ALL BAKERS)I also blended regular cheap sugar to make fine bakers sugar and will never need to spend $ on a bag of bakers sugar again AND I barely even had to blend any of the things I made for more than 30 seconds!!!

To address the reviews that said the lid did not fit properly--I had no issues. To boot, the center plug in the lid has a large handle to remove it easily. Also the blade and it's base are made entirely of strong metal. Even though the body is plastic, it is quite durable and looks sharp! I'm sure the red and stainless steel versions of this blender would look even better (however they do not come with the food processor add-on, but I really doubt I'll even need it!)

The blender works good too. I just made fresh basil pesto this afternoon, and it was less of a pain with this than the bur-mixer at the restaurant I work at! Great blender for the price.

My sturdy blender from the 1950's died recently, so I replaced it with this one. So far, so good. Crushes the ice in my pina coladas like nobody's business! Just tried out the food processor today. Guacamole came out great! It is loud, but works womderfully. I've ordered a Blend-n-Go, and can't wait to try it out with this. If it starts to leak, well, I will just replace the seals. Well worth it for the price.

I can not give an accurate star rating because this is a gift item. I ordered this as a gift through your Club Wedd program. This is a great feature. However, tracking does not let me know for sure if it was delivered. It just gives an approximate delivery time. I would like to see a feature added to all your gift programs that would provide feedback to the sender that delivery has occurred.
