THESE ARE THE NEW STYLE DIAPERS 3.0

We received these diapers a few weeks ago and I just love them. I normally use FuzziBunz and/or Blueberry/Swaddlebees, but these BumGenius 3.0 work GREAT at night on my almost 12-month-old, 21 lb daughter. We use one insert during the day and both inserts at night and have never had a leak when she sleeps 12+ hours. And just to clear things up, these ARE the new style adjustable one-size BumGenius 3.0 pocket diapers that come with one adjustable (snap) insert and one newborn insert. It is well worth the purchase, and please do consider this diaper if you are switching to cloth, or considering it for your newborn. You will need between 15-20 diapers to start full-time, but they last YEARS if you care for them properly. I also highly recommend All Small & Mighty Free & Clear for laundry (or Allen's Naturally, Purex Free & Clear, Planet, or Arm & Hammer Sensitive Skin) - just be sure it is free of dyes, perfumes/scents, and enzymes as these will destroy your diapers or possibly give baby a rash (only use 1/4 to 1/2 amount of detergent required on cloth diapers). For hard water, also use Calgon Water Softener to help clean diapers and then double rinse. Be sure to get a wetbag to take with you when you leave the house. Also be sure to use a cloth diaper friendly rash cream to avoid repel/leaking issues, which you may not even need because you won't have many rashes in cloth, unlike disposables - we use California Baby or Northern Essence Better Butter. These are so easy to use, and contain all messes, unlike disposable diapers which can leak up baby's back. Cleaning is easy - just rinse it out with a diaper sprayer and you never have to touch the mess, then toss in a dry pail until laundry day. We love these and would recommend to everyone!

My daughter has been in cloth since she was six month old and NOTHING would cure her diaper rash. These were the first diapers I tried (I bought the one size version). Within three days her skin was cleared and healed. She is still wearing them today at 18 months old. If I put her in a disposable, she gets a rash right away. Over this past year I have tried many, many, many styles and have even made my own. I love this diaper so much that I have knocked off the pattern for my own personal use...but I am still tempted to buy more. This is a PERFECT diaper for someone changing from disposable to cloth. bumGenius - Duh!

I love BG - But I'm branching out....

I have been using BG one-size since my baby was born 7 mos ago. They are wonderful. They are soft, easy, adjustable, etc, etc. All the good things you will read in other reviews I won't repeat here. I will continue to use my BG diapers...however, here are a few things I've learned to dislike along the way that have spurred me to branch out and supplement with other types of diapers....
In general, the BGs are way too bulky. My baby is bulky enough (she's 95th percentile for weight) and these diapers are hard to use with normal baby clothes. It's hard to fit pants on her and snap onesies. I think the side flaps are too wide, too, and kind of dig into my baby's leg a bit and restrict her movement.
For the first 3 mos, I used only the NB inserts (the regular ones were too bulky!). When she started leaking through regularly, I reluctantly went to the normal sized inserts.
Basically, those are my only complaints. BG is a wonderful product and so EASY because you just throw in the wash. You save money and time because you're not constantly buying disposables and running to the store. You're not constantly emptying smelly trash. You just toss a load a day or two in the wash and fresh diapers! The inner cotton is really, really soft on baby, too. And baby has never had a diaper rash!
I use a disposables for bedtime and usually change my baby once during the night (2 disposables/night basically). I found that she leaked through the BGs at night and I didn't want to do an insert doubler on her. If I did, she'd be completely immobilized by bulk!
For care, the outers are best line dried or air dried, but you can put them in the dryer, too. I recommend hanging the inserts on the line in good weather. The sun helps keep them white and freshens their smell.
I have about 18 BG OS diapers total and I wash every 1 to 2 days.

These diapers are wonderful and great for the environment. This is all my baby has worn since coming home from the hospital 7 months ago. I did have a small problem with the velcro, but I contacted the company and they replaced the diapers that were problematic quickly without any hassle. These diapers have a year warranty and the company stands by it. I have had very few leaks, many of my friends report more leaks with disposables. I would recommend these highly to anyone. Going with another brand would be a mistake as they may not stand by a warranty if they even have one.

I have no idea why people waste money on disposables, but having said that, these are great diapers. We use these as our night time diapers. I like that they are earth friendly, wash up nicely (if your baby is exclusively fed, any stains come right out in the sun! just put them washed, wet face out in the sun!
These are waterproof, you do not need a separate cover. The velcro/touch tape tends to get pilly, but if you are only washing these and not fitteds or prefolds, it isn't an issue. STOCK UP!

My husband and I have used cloth diapers for our first born child. We did this primarily to save money; doing our part to help the environment was a perk.
Both my husband and I greatly prefer the bum Genius diapers over disposable. When our daughter has worn the disposables, she has more often than not blown out of them. Never has this happened with the bum Genius.
The care of the cloth diapers is SO SO much easier than anticipated. Don't let that deter you from purchasing. You can get care instructions from the manufacturer's website.
Good luck, and welcome to the world of cloth diapering! Your wallet, the earth, and your baby will thank you!

Imagine my surprise when shopping at Target today I saw my favorite cloth diapers!! My son is almost one year old and has been in cloth exclusively since he was 8 weeks old. I have tried many different brands of cloth, and I love them all, but the bums are the best! They are the only ones that I really trust all night long. They are so easy to use, so easy to wash, and so easy to love!!! Please...more people need to check these out and stop using the nasty disposables! Three extra loads of laundry per week is nothing compared to the negative effects of the diapers in our landfills, not to mention the horrible chemicals in disposables. The bumGenius diapers rock!! Kudos to Target for putting this product out there in retail!

we have tried several different kinds of cloth diapers in hopes of making the switch from disposable to cloth as easy as possible... but all of them leaked, smelled funny, or were massive on a newborns body. but not these... we LOVE them! they are awesome, easy to use, and dependable. no leaks or blow outs yet! i really suggest that if you are considering switching to cloth, dont waste your money shopping around (trust me, ive done it!) just go with these and youll be super happy- babys butt will be too! :)

We have cloth diaperer almost exclusively for three months. We use these and other pocket diapers at night and prefolds and covers during the day. We have never had a leak with our BGs. I do like the velcro on Blueberry's much better, but BGs are our second favorite. These fit our daugher at 8 lbs though they weren't the easiest to fit under newborn size onesies! We wash them in Purex Free and Clear and have never had a leak. I do recommend doing a warm or hot wash cycle with no soap instead of just an extra rinse though if you are going to use a detergent like Purex that isn't a special clean rinsing detergent. We had ammonia smell issues before we started doing the extra warm/hot wash cycle.
These are very cute on-much cuter under dresses than disposables! And unlike disposables we've never had a breastfeed baby poop leak issue.

I bought these for my daughter when she was 6 months old. It took me a while to get usto them but once I did i dont regret i bought them. I just wished i wouldve bought more. My daughter is 14 months now and is still using the medium, there are no leaks, and they helped with my daughters diaper rash, ever since ive been using these diapers she hasnt gotten a diaper rash.
