Great humidifier! Highly recommended! Great price. March 1, 2008 Reviewer:  MD2010 (Syracuse, NY)  See all my reviews >

Living in Syracuse, NY in winter, the air becomes very dry with long periods of temperatures below zero as well as heating systems that dry out the air.

I purchased this warm mist humidifier because it is true that the warm mist not only inhibits bacterial and fungal overgrowth but it also allows the mist to be distributed more naturally through the air since the warm mist rises. With the cold mist, it would stay near the floor and having carpets, I would not want a soggy moldy carpet.

This humidifier produces a mist that is not even noticeable or visible. But I can always tell when the tank runs out at night because I wake up and my nose feels funny. It has a 1 gallon capacity and I run it 24 hours a day on the lower setting and I only have to refill the tank ever other day. I only use distilled water in the humidifier, which is what I would recommend (you do not need chlorine and all the other chemicals in the tap water evaporated into your breathing air!), and have had absolutely no problems with this humidifer.

I had some concerns about the "nightlight" feature, because there is nothing worse than trying to sleep with some of these other humidifiers that have the 'alien abduction' night light that illuminates your entire bedroom all night with an eerie otherworldly glow. However, the "night light" is really just a very faint green/red glow that surrounds the knob and indicates whether the tank needs to be refilled (turns red). It does NOT illuminate your bedroom at all, which is a big plus.

If you need something quiet, unobtrusive, practical, functional (a workhorse really), and at a reasonable price, I would highly recommend this humidifier.

No more epistaxis! (Nosebleeds). Recommended by medical student.

BEST EVER FOR MOIST CLEAN AIR November 23, 2008 Reviewer:  Mason & Rylee's Mom (Elgin, NE)  See all my reviews >

I have two of these humidifiers and run them day and night. They are easy to take apart and clean and I do not have to worry about mold or bacteria spewing into the air from filters like the cold air humidifers we used to use. Compared to a vaporizer the steam is not as hot for safety with kids and the units are much less awkward and fit on my endtables out of reach of my 10 month old.

My three year old and 10 months old sons have not had any congestion since I started using this humidifier.

The heating element does get mineral build up but that is expected and it only takes a couple of minutes to rinse it out while I am filling up the tank anyway.

I take both units upstairs every night and back down every morning. They are lightweight and east to maneuver even when full.

Works Great January 25, 2008 Reviewer:  Christina S. (Chalfont, PA)  See all my reviews >

This is better than ultrasonic in that it doesn't need filters since boiling water kills most bacteria.

Clean up is easy. The instructions make it hard to see how easy it is to disassemble. There's a piece with a metal screw you access, after pulling off the tank, that slides to release two parts. My water is quite hard but there's no problem rinsing the pieces.

It has two steam settings. The high setting will last at least 12 hours.

Do NOT buy -- big hassle to clean December 14, 2007 Reviewer:  Courts' Mom See all my reviews >

This humidifier is a big hassle to clean. It needs to be cleaned daily, which involves disassembling the entire unit. Once a week, it needs to be cleaned with vinegar and bleach.

Must be cleaned DAILY!!! September 3, 2008 Reviewer:  Annette M (KS, USA)  See all my reviews >

I must say, at first I was very pleased with the product- quiet, looks nice, works well. But after about 2 weeks it stopped working! Apparently it needs to be taken apart and cleaned daily! Who has time to clean their humidifier daily? Oh and even if you clean it daily, there is also weekly cleaning instructions and instructions for when you are going to leave it unused for a few days. The build up on the heating element is insane if you don't clean it as the directions instruct. It's a nice machine, but a lot of work!

This humidifier works good but the only thing I don't like about it is it leaks my floor was all wet and the carpet.

Not satisfied October 31, 2008 Reviewer:  Nate Hernandez "NHernandez" Real Name (NYC)  See all my reviews >

After reading many of the reviews, I had high expectations for this product. I'm sad to say I was very disappointed. Because we have forced heat, the air in our house gets very dry in the colder months - and it really affects me and my son's breathing and comfort while trying to sleep. So I purchased two: one for my son's room and one for my own room that I will be sharing with the new baby when he arrives. I decided to test it out for several nights in my room. It was as if I had never turned it on at all. I even moved the unit closer to my bed...still didn't help. I tried keeping the unit on its high setting (which empties the tank in less than 8 hours), cleaning it once a day, and lowering the heat in the house - nothing worked! Or I guess I should say this humidifier didn't work.
On the plus side: it is very quiet, emits a soothing glow, and is rather simple to take apart for cleaning. It even makes the room feel a little warmer. It just didn't solve my most pressing problem which is to add moisture to the air. I took both of them back to the store (never bothered opening the second one) and had no problem getting a full refund.

Love It!!!! December 17, 2008 Reviewer:  M. Smith "Mommy of 2" Real Name (Maryland)  See all my reviews >

Bought this humidifer when a previous brand stopped working, I have never had any problems with it what so ever. It starts working quickly after turned on and last through out the night, my son sleeps so much better with this humidifier versus a cool mist humidifier. I will be purchasing a 2nd one for my newborn daughter's room!

Worst humidifier EVER. December 14, 2008 Reviewer:  Ian's Mom (MN)  See all my reviews >

We got this humidifier when my son was born. The first night we used it we had it aimed away from his crib toward the foot part but not on the crib. When he woke in the middle of the night for his feeding I stepped in a huge puddle. Anywhere the steam went it left a huge puddle of water, whether it was on high or low.

I do not recommend this item to ANYONE.

not for decent sized rooms March 30, 2008 Reviewer:  mominmpls (Minneapolis, MN)  See all my reviews >

This did not add any humidity in our bedroom or my daughters. It is quiet.
