Horribly Overpriced, Flashy Sawdust January 20, 2009 Reviewer:  Nicole M. Day "Choosy Mom" Real Name (Central Pennsylvania)  See all my reviews >

I've read through the other reviews of this crib and am shocked that with one exception, everyone gave it a good rating. I cannot understand how anyone could approve of this crib, unless they have never owned a piece of "decent" furniture before.

Upon first opening the package, I noticed dings, dents, and other aesthetic flaws right away. I was willing to overlook these since my fiancee liked how the crib looked on the website and the price seemed too good to be true. Long story short, it was.

The side rail split as I was assembling it using the included tool (allen wrench) using only minimal pressure. In fact, I was tightening the bolts less than I felt comfortable with because the press board felt so poorly manufactured.

I can't imagine this crib holding up to any child older than a few weeks, as a good kick or shake on the side rails would easily split the wood. After noticing the split, I applied minimal pressure at the junction points and heard copious amounts of cracking in the particle board.

Frankly, for the cost this crib is a complete rip off. I'm staggered how it earned a seal of approval for its manufacturing process and construction.

If you have the extra money, go for an Ellis Signature 4-in-1 crib. Solid wood and convertible all the way to a full sized bed (headboard/footboard only).

If you don't have the money, Craigs list or yard sale shop for a solid wood crib. Trust me, you do not want to trust your child's safety to compressed sawdust.

Absolutely nothing wrong with this crib. Looks great! June 22, 2009 Reviewer:  GreenGiraffe (Georgia, USA)  See all my reviews >

I read the review below a few months ago, along with many others on various sites, and decided to order the crib despite the poor reviews about the condition and color.

Well, I expected I would have to return the crib. I figured there would be chips and dents, missing pieces, poorly drilled holes, or at the least, missing instructions. I was wrong. There was ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WRONG with this crib.

The color is WARM, but certainly not cherry. It is exactly what I wanted.

The crib is very, very sturdy, and the drop-side is surprisingly easy to operate. All you need is a free hand and a knee!

I assembled everything myself (and pregnant!) in less than an hour. The instructions were adequate, but the pieces were missing the labels to correspond to the instructions. I used common sense, read through the instructions before assembling anything, and I was fine.

I will note that the wheels are difficult to pop into place, so I turned the crib right-side-up, then inserted the wheels and put my weight on each corner of the crib. Way easier.

Overall, this crib is a great deal, and I am shocked people would spend hundreds more on a crib of similar construction and design.

Just about what I expected April 11, 2009 Reviewer:  brandnewhousewife See all my reviews >

LOVE the color - it works much better with the finish in our baby's room than I had thought by looking at the pictures. The tone is warmer than it looks. The assembly itself was relatively easy - I'm nine days away from my due date and put it together in about two hours. (It would have been much simpler with another person around!) My only real issue is that the dropside is a little shaky. It's pretty easy to use, but I have a feeling that our little one is going to be shaking that thing all day long when he gets old enough.

Color Misrepresented January 12, 2009 Reviewer:  Mommy Meltdown (Green Bay, WI)  See all my reviews >

We ordered this crib for our soon to be 3 month old baby boy. I was debating over cappuccino or walnut and we ended up with an in-between color with honey tones that washed out the bedding. It was significantly darker than I expected it to be, so we returned it. If we want another color, we'll have to place a new order. Nevertheless, it looked like a pretty crib even though it had quite a few "dents" in it. I'm not sure if the "dents" are defects or for looks. We plan to chance it and order the Sarah in a walnut color.
