This masher is perfect for our needs and mashes well, provided you are using a flat bottomed dish for mashing... it tends to not work as well in a rounded bowl. I have resorted to pie pans for mashing potatoes, but it does a great job. It's so satisfying to see the little 'worms' of potatoes and other things come through the little holes! Best thing is that it doesn't scratch non-stick pans.
