I've had this TV for a week now, so take it for what it's worth. First of all, the best aspect of this TV is the price. I paid [..] for it new at my local Target. I'm not sure if this is the normal retail cost or if it was on sale (the price is not visible on line right now as it is out of stock). You're not going to find a better deal on a 47" 1080p TV-- trust me, I've looked. The 46" Sceptres go for [...], but that brand seems pretty ghetto. Plus I like the extra 1"! :) My only complaint about this TV is the lack of an VGA port. Which is really inconvenient for me since my computer doesnt somehow doesn't have an S-Video, HDMI, or DVI port!! So no using this as a monitor for me. :(

Initially went to Target to purchase the 47" Phillips because out of my experience this was the best brand for the price. When I arrived this 47" Magnavox was settled next to the Phillips at a slightly reduced price. I compared the two as much I as could while at the store, and they seamed almost exactly the same. Even the tv's software is completely similar. The only visual difference between the two was literally the name on the tv. All outputs and buttons were located in exactly the same place on both tvs. I went with this one which I couldnt be happier. So much so that I actually posted a review. The picture was great! The sound is as good as Lcd tvs get these days. As mentioned in a previous review the box does say 3 HDMI inputs put there are actually 4 (one on the side)

I read dozens of reviews and shopped price and picture quality 46"-50" sets over the last 30 days. Was replacing our 6 year old Sony 50" Projection HDTV with an LCD or LED (I ruled out plasma and DLP). I narrowed the dozens of options to just two: This new Maganavox 47" at Target and the new Samsung 46" LED at the "big box" store. After a final look went for this and am 100% sure I made the best choice...GREAT TV! Less than HALF the price of the Samsung on sale!

Easy unpak, easy setup, superb crystal-clear/bright picture that has everyone saying "WOW".

No need to shop...this is IT!!!

After countless hours of research online at all the different retail stores I finally made a decision on my purchase! This Magnavox is not the greatest t.v ever made but it sure does get the job done... Its got a nice backlight and a bright screen. While the specs say a 26,000: 1 contrast ratio it is infact 30,000: 1 not a big deal but it really makes any black image that much darker. Its 5ms response time is nice with minimal motion blur... Xbox 360 gaming is great running on 1080p. The online minor detail is that it has no vga port in the back and the audio out is just one SDIF cable and unfortunetly my receiver doesnt support it... All in all a great purchase and I have no regrets

I actually was going to buy a sony that I researched at my local Target and saw this one and bought it instead. This is a great LCD for the price. I bought mine for cost on sale, about price less than comparable LCD's, and am happy with it. Quality is great. It says it has only 3 HDMI slots on the box and info, but it has 4. Easy to install a wall mount as well.

Originally bought the Sony 46", but was unhappy with the picture. So far so good. For the price, it was a good investment. Only 60HRZ, but in my opinion it had a better picture than my original Sony for around $ less. I would recommend this to someone not looking for all the bells and whistles.

We compared it to the Samsung 50"Plasma because they were both on sale and decided to go with the Magnavox because it is an LCD and we didn't really want a plasma. We originally had a Samsung DLP and it died on us after only 5 years. So because of that Samsung wasn't our first choice. We didn't have much experience with Magnavox but thought we would give it a try and glad we did. It is a great t.v. for the price.

This is by far the best deal for the money around. I did alot of research before deciding on this TV and it doesnt disappoint! The picture is great - bright and clear in HD and even hooked up to my old vhs. Audio seems great to me, as good as I would expect to hear from any TV alone. Shipping was excellent too, I was a little worried about damage but I ordered on Sunday, Labor Day monday and the TV arrived at my house Thursday - in perfect condition. I tried to get this at the store but they are all sold out around here, so glad we took the chance online!

If you do the research you find that Phillps owns Magnavox and that most Magnavox are the same as there Phillps counter part but for some reason lucky for us the Magnavox are 10 to 15% less for the same TV all comes down to what you want on the bottom of the set Phillps or Magnavox plus a little more cash in your pocket.Oh yea the picture is Great has all the hook ups I needed for Directv DVD games and with DVI to HDMI cable computer hooks right up to it. By the way I built a custom frame for my set don't see any name just the great picture:)

This is my second magnavox and its even better than my first one. All you have to do is plug it in and attach your cable and you get the best picture around. No special boxes needed...I have basic cable and I get all the avaiable HD programing that is free over the air. I first bought a sharp 52" and I sent it right back - it had awful color and no HD.
I HIGHLY recommend this tv. It's awesome--really. The employees in the TV dept at the Redlands Target were also awesome..
Thanks for selling this brand.
