Disproves the axiom "They don't make them like this anymore" July 21, 2009 Reviewer:  Sharon Gorbacz "Sharon" Real Name (Bayonne, NJ USA)  See all my reviews >

Mom had one of these when I was growing up, the only reason we got a new blender was that the glass flask broke. The new blender we got did not do what this one did, and the motor burned out when trying to crush ice.

I was happy to see this old classic on the shelves once more, and bought one for my mom about five years ago. Hundreds of jobs later, it's just as good as new.

Now that I'm moving into my very own kitchen, I'm going to get one of these too. No blender really needs more controls than Off - Low - and Hi. The toggle switch on this model will last longer than plastic buttons and knobs. Metal exterior is easy to wash, and the chrome or copper finishes look great in any kitchen.

LITTLE WORKHORSE! July 20, 2009 Reviewer:  BE GOOD TO PEOPLE (NY USA)  See all my reviews >

HAD A VERY EXPENSIVE IKON BLENDER(WHICH BROKE 2 DAYS AFTER GETTING IT)AND HAD DONE SOME MORE RESEARCH AND FOUND THIS LITTLE WORKHORSE TO BE THE BEST VALUE FOR THE MONEY. IT IS LOUDER THEN THE IKON WAS BUT CAN CRUSH 3/4 OF AN ICE TRAY WITH LIQUID AS WELL AS THE IKON. I USE IT FOR PINA COLADA'S AND PUREEING HOT SOUPS. EASY CLEAN UP AS WELL. WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND!

this will turn anything to liquid November 22, 2009 Reviewer:  rachel (Austin, TX)  See all my reviews >

i got this model with a pretty red base a few years ago, and it's still going strong, with promise to continue. i don't have a food processor, so i use this for pretty much everything, from smoothies to hummus to salsa to blended soups.

my only caution is that with only one setting (on/liquify) it is hard to keep from overblending if that's an issue. for example, making salsa, i let it kill big chunks of serrano and onion, but save out some of the tomato and cilantro and just pulse those in at the end.

Beehive BeeJunk November 12, 2009 Reviewer:  Mom of little time (Minnesota)  See all my reviews >

I bought this blender a couple of years ago because it had a glass container and it just seemed solid. I have never been happy with it and I am searching for a different blender that can actually blend things. It is very loud and it cannot even blend a smoothie for the kids without a foul smell as if the motor is going to light on fire. Any blender should be able to blend ice without much effort. This one cannot. Save your money and look for something else!!!

Made to Last November 12, 2009 Reviewer:  K. Chisholm "nirbhao" Real Name (Michigan, USA)  See all my reviews >

The jar is glass, and the base and its innards are metal. It is heavy because it is solid and well made.

Best blender through many years November 2, 2009 Reviewer:  Cynthia (Coachella Valley, California)  See all my reviews >

I have known this blender since my childhood years. My mom always had it and said it has been the best. Up to this day she has ig over many years and once it gets old, she buys the same one.

Now that i am married, i use the same one and it is awsome!
