I recently purchased this straightner because my step-mom has one like that is like this and it very well. This straightner on the other hand was a piece of junk! it didn't get hot and it ripped out my hair:(. I took it back the very next day, and purchased a conair that was a couple dollars cheaper and works a million times better!

This is an awful straightener. It seldom actually straightened my hair, just caused it extensive damage. Mine went out this morning - causing a loud pop, a shower of sparks from the device and the wall, blowing out my circuit breaker and leaking scalding fluid on me. It burned holes in my clothes and burned all of my exposed skin. So, to sum up, it burned my hair, my clothes, my skin and almost burned my house down!

It isnt completely horrible but I regret buying it. It heats up pretty quickly (not in 60 seconds like they say but quick enough). I have two problems with this flat iron.
One- It pulls on my hair. I can hear my strands of hair breaking off as it pulls them and slits the ends!
Two- I have to go over the same piece of hair 6 or 7 times in order to get close to the look I'm trying to achieve. I have thick African American hair and need a better quality flat iron.
I don't want to make the same mistake with my next purchase so I'm going to cough up the dough to get a higher grade ceramic flat iron called Solia.
If you are willing to spend even more money on a higher grade ceramic flat iron you might want to consider Sedu.
I would not recommend this product to anyone with thick hair.

I've used this item for about a week and noticed that the ceramic started coming off one side. It's now been two weeks and theres a section about 1 1/2 inches long that no longer has the ceramic coating on it. As for the heat, it worked well. It just didn't last very long. At a cost of 10 per week, it's not a good value!

ok you may think this item is amazing, but one thing that i first notied was that it wouldnt work in my bathroom plugs!!i than tried it in my kitchen plugs and it worked.but also, it smelled HORRIBLE and made my hair smell.I couldn't handle the renched smell so i had to take it back the day i got it.You shouldn't waste your money on something that wont last, spend your money on someting that will! :-] for example the target infinity ceramic straighener by conair. It is a little more expensive but deffintaly worth the money :] i have it now & it works GREAT!i hope you think twice about buying this revlon straightener.

I bought this in pink. It's only 1" and even on the highest setting I had to go over one piece of hair to straighten it! It smells weird and afterwords your hair doesn't look shiny at all!

Doesn't stay straight

I have poofy hair, but its thin so it doesn't take much to straighten, so when I bought this straightener about a year ago I was expecting it to work well. NO.
I straighten my hair before school and I have to keep touching it up before I leave becasue it UNSTRAIGHTENS. I feel like it burns my hair and makes it more poofy. It leaves your hair feeling dry and dead.
The ceramic paint on the plates has even started to come off and it randomly shuts off.
It gets the job done for the most part but it takes about an hour to get it decent! I'm gonne try a remington or maybe even chi... Don't let the price fool you on this straightener...

Alright so my hair isn't extremely curly, it is not thin but it is not extremely thick, it is just somewhat wavy. This straightener only made my hair poofy! It didn't straighten whatsoever! Waste of money, returning mine first thing tomorrow!

I don't use a flat iron often, and I barely use hair products. The iron heats up nice(only if you use the highest setting) and quickly. But I have only used it about a dozen times (and only on the front section of my hair) and already I have a sticky tar like buildup on the plates and the coating is chipping off. Seems like most have the same problem with this iron. Do a search and you will find video of these irons that have done the same as mine.
