I bought the old version for my daughter last christmas. She is only 7 and I did not want her to loose her little iPod shuffle, I thought this would be a good solution and then she could share her music with her friends too. I was blown away by the sound and clarity. The volume is controled by the iPod it gets pretty loud and there is no static. It is the perfect size, small enough to carry around and big enough that it doesn't get misplaced. I snatch it from her now and then and put my nano in it. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone. And the price is great too.

I just bought the black iMainGo for my friends birthday. The sound quality is great. Its louder then I expected it could get, and there's no static. Its a little heavy and the case is a little thick, but for the sound quality and other great aspects it doesnt bother her at all. It would be nice if there could be the option of plugging it into a wall though. Its a really good product and i dont regret buying it.

I bought this speaker for my workplace to listen to podcasts over lunch at our outdoor bench... though I also ended up using it at my cubicle.

1) The sound quality is fantastic; its very clear and outputs evenly, including very well through the bass.

2) Playing at half volume of my iPod Nano is quite loud and I never need to go above that.

3) I've been using the speakers for a month now, for around 10 hours each week. Apparently playing speech and jazz isn't heavy on alkaline batteries, and it's still playing strong! Maybe the manufacturer was thinking of Rock music when they rate battery life at 30 hours...

4) The product is small enough to take to the beach and loud enough to be heard outdoors. I've actually dropped it 3 times and other than scuffing it up, it works great - it's quite solidly made.

Before buying this I've used white Sony portable iPod speakers (comes with a power adapter) but they had poor bass and were not nearly as powerful as I wanted. The iMainGo2 is excellent quality and a steal at the price.

I just purchased iMainGo2 a few weeks ago. Battery compartment is too tight and metal ground came out the first time I took out the batteries. One of the springs for the batteries was bent. Speaker sounds good if I can get it to work. I'm very disapointed with the machine because it's much too hard to place the four batteries and I certainly didn't expect the grounding metal to fall apart after first use!

I just received this speaker system for my iPod, as I purchased it to use on vacation. The sound that comes out of this small system is amazing - better than I ever expected. The case also protects the iPod. The only problem I have is that the piece of cardboard ad inside the plastic window stuck to it. It has since left a filmy residue on this plastic, but it does not interfere with its operation - it's only visible at a certain angle. I have a feeling they will also have this same issue - so they may want to change the design and remove this piece of cardboard for something better. It also left ink on the plastic. Other than that small problem - this is the perfect portable speaker system.

This thing is amazing. I bought it because of all the positive reviews about the sound quality and they were right. I can't believe the sound is so good for such a small speaker and it protects my ipod.
It's much better than my computer speakers (especially for bass)- I listen to internet radio all day at work and plug it into the headphone jack.
It's totally portable and it'll be great for beach trips come summer.

After reading several reviews on this I decided to purchase it. I am so glad I did! It is amazing how good a sound I get from something so small. If you are looking for a great sound and good portability get this, you'll be glad you did. I know I am!

This was a wonderful purchase and I am very satisfied.
The portable speakers are great at the beach and good sounding base as well. Keeps the sand out of your ipod because it is zipped up.

Pros: Great sound for its size.

Cons:

- power switch is flimsy; really can't tell if it is in the on or alarm position
- audio input cable can easily get pinched when zipping the unit up
- wish there was a way to power on and off w/o having to open the unit every time

Bottom-line summary:

If you're looking for something that will protect your ipod and get an external speaker to boot and find one that has passed some sort of quality control then it will be a good purchase.

If you purchase from Target don't select standard shipping
(3-5 business days). It is UPS Basic service which is not the best. After placing the order, the conformation will then say 10 days for delivery.

Also Target shipped mine with the iMaingo2 box obviously damaged. The last thing you want to do is ship a product that visibly has a damaged box. The product may be damaged.

Big companies just don't care!
