this is my first e reader.. i absolutely love it. the size is great and i love all the features it has.. maybe in the future they could add a backlight but all in all it is a super item..
Greetings from Bali. We absolutely love our Aluratek Digital eBook Reader. It's been indispensable for us while living abroad where good English reads are pricey and hard to find. It's an excellent alternative to the higher priced big name brands (which often claim will not work outside the US). It survived our 12,000 mile/30+ hour trip...all on a single charge. The 100 free books included are a decent selection, and made a nice start to our library. The wide variety of formats recognized by th
e device make it easy for us to find books from thousands of sources on the web. There's no need for complicated conversion software or expensive download fees. We were a little apprehensive about the 5" screen, but it turned out to be the perfect size for our needs. A larger color screen would be more appropriate for those primarily reading digital periodicals, but for take-anywhere, carefree, paperback style reading we couldn't ask for a better device. The standard USB plug does away with the need for bulky power adapters and travel converters, allowing charges from any desktop, laptop, or public charging station. We've yet to test the waterproof to 15' claims, but is has survived our kids, a spill, some rain, and a couple falls. The price is the best feature, and our only regret is not buying another while we were back stateside.
Since I am an avid reader, I got [a different ebook reader] for myself and when my mom saw it, she wanted an ebook reader as well. she just wanted a simple ebook reader since she is not tech savy. for just reading ebook, this is a perfect reader.Its light weight, small and easily fits in your handbag. It has the anti-glare technology which I love. Its suppose to have longer battery life and definitely longer than my [own ebook reader].Its perfect for travelling long distance and I got another one for my hubby.
For an adult this is not a very good device. The books they had to offer did not have a very good selection to choose from. I'm an avid reader and need/enjoy a wide selection of books to choose from.
I really do like most of the features of this e-reader. Although the screen is slightly green tinted, the text is clear and sharp. I particularly like how quickly it turns on and when it is turned on, it starts right where you left it. This is especially nice because you don't have to navigate through countless button pushes to get back to what you were reading, The only issues I have are with the screen size, which is only 5" but for the price it can be overlooked. The other thing is that
the battery is not removable and only lasts 24 hours. For the price, though, this is a great e-reader.
It's a great device, like having a reference library at your finger tips.It does a great job reformating technical PDF books which I can download free.The ear buds are my biggest suprise. They are so load and clear that I use them on my other audio devices instead of the bilt in speakers.The Target price was a steal, half the price of a Kindle.
