American Simplicity 42" Round Pedestal Table - Black product details page

This is a great, cute little apartment table and I currently am using it as a kitchen table in our new home. It has held up fantastically over 3 moves BUT, the surface of the table seems to fade. Whether this is sunlight induced or a result of water or moisture I can't really say but it is really odd, the table actually has begun to look gray in some places. Fortunately, it's a well-used table in a kitchen now, but if it were still a primary dining table I'd be a little put out. Overall, though it was a great value for the money and I'd buy it again...now to figure out how to "dye" it back black!

This item arrived and was packed very well. No instructions were included to assemble. The top of the table was already scratched by the time I put it together. A DISASTER!! [...]. Skip this one if you can.

I served our dinner on my new table which I loved, great quality, sturdy BUT then I placed the plate of food on the table, mashed potatoes and meat the slightly hot plate. It was not that hot I carried it with my hands, the black came off the table. now we have white spots all over the table and it's only a few month old because the very thought of anything with heat takes off the color. BUMMER If you have kids don't get the table. Just my cup of coffee left a mark so I am not happy but - price wise and how sturdy it is was nice. It just looks old now.

Yes the other reviews are true. I took a chance and it came wrapped like it was shipped from another world and thrown off an airplane to my doorstep. The tape had torn and I could stick half my body down into the box. The table was just "put" into the box with no styrofoam attached to it. The styrofoam is literally tossed in there. In result, the table has a few dings around the edges. NO, not keeping a damaged table. I would of went to a used furniture store for one of those. Called customer service and she couldn't do an exchange, only my money back which takes 7-14 days. If I were rich I wouldn't be ordering this table. Now I have no table, have to wait for my money to be refunded and am extremely dissatisfied.

It came early...it was easy to put together...it does have a nick on the edge (probably from shipping)...but I LOVE IT!!!! Sturdy, as elegant as it looks online, true black, not glossy. I love it! : )

Target shipped me a damaged table, not once, but twice. The first one had a smashed in table top; I returned it. The second arrived today with a chunk missing from the table top edge and with the table top lifting away from the ring that supports the perimeter of the table top, not the pedestal, but the ring under the top; I'll be returning this one, too. I would like an UNDAMAGED table, which seems like a reasonable request. Truly pathetic thing is that I ordered the Georgetown cocktail table at the same time and Target has sent me TWO DAMAGED cocktail tables. Seriously???!!!

The product was nicely packed and I didn't find any defects/scratches on the item. It was very easy to assemble. Although this table is black, I can see subtle wood grain pattern on the surface of the table, and I love it! It certainly looks more expensive than I actually spent for this piece. One downside was that the assembly instruction was missing from the package and I had to call the manufacturer to get it. Over all, I'm very satisfied with this purchase.

Great table for the price. Arrived well packaged (almost too well). Assembly was easy. Sturdy product and in excellent shape. No shipping damage whatsoever. Pleased with purchase.
