I was given this rice maker as a gift. The first time I used it, I was making brown rice and set the timer for 12 hours to be ready in the morning. It came out fluffy and perfect. I did note that using the cup that comes with it is a must as one of those cups is not a US measuring cup. But, I followed the directions and everything was great!!!

I chose this rice cooker after reading many positive reviews about it. We love it! I cook mostly brown rice and it does a fantastic job. No more worries that I will burn rice on the stove because I forgot about it. I read the instructions thoroughly, and took the advice of reviewers that stressed using the measuring cup that came with the cooker instead of standard measures. I do have to add a bit more water than the instructions suggest -- but that is not a problem. I put HOT water into the co oker with the rice, and it takes about the same amount of time as when I cook rice on the stove. We use it a lot!

I got this a couple of years ago. It is the appliance I use most often besides my coffeepot, and it does the job.Still, I'm replacing it today, because it is hard to clean -- only the interior pot lifts out, which leaves the lid (removable, but not easily) and the lip around the outside (no way to clean it but a wet cloth, ick.) And, it tends to over cook if not watched, and eight cups is really a LOT of rice, so it's too big.

I have had this cooker for 2 years now and have not had any issues with it. Sometimes the rice is a little brown on the bottom but not any where close to burnt. Convenient one touch cook just be sure to follow directions for the different types of rice. We use it 2 to 3 times a month and it's still going strong.

Not much "middle ground" between crunchy and burned

I've never had a bad rice cooker before. I bought this one because it was from Target, reasonably priced, and attractive. The instructions were a little bit difficult to follow, but only because one must use the measuring cup that is included, rather than standard measuring cups that we have in our kitchens.I simply want to cook plain, white rice. I'm a fairly decent cook, and former restaurant owner, but I can't seem to manage this with this rice cooker. I've adjusted the measurements, added a nd lessened the water, let it stay in the cooker longer after the buzzer sounded, and stopped it before the buzzer sounded. I cannot end up with decently cooked rice. It I just leave it alone, my usual ending is with burned rice. The bottom layer is always browned and crunchy.

Based on all of the positive reviews, I went ahead and purchased this rice cooker. I've had it for about 6 months and it has never successfully cooked rice. It will beep to let me know it's done and when I open it the rice is completely uncooked and the water is lukewarm. I wanted to return it, but didn't keep the receipt. Maybe it's just a lemon, but this is the worst rice cooker I have ever used. You're better off putting your $.. towards the purchase of a "nice" rice cooker. Make s ure to keep your receipt!

I gave myself this aroma rice cooker for christmas of 2008 and use it at least twice a week! It works perfectly! Beeps when it is done and stays on the warm cycle until you turn it off. I do not recommend keeping it on the warm cycle for more than an hour or two at the most(the rice will remain hot and over cook.)

Great so far!!

I just bought this today and I am very pleased with what I bought. I have never used a rice cooker before so I really didn't know what I was getting into but after reading the instructions it seemed really simple it made perfect white rice and steamed broccoli for dinner.

I have owned this rice cooker now for a little over a year and it has done its job. The cooker is easy to use and makes perfect rice every time. The warm setting is nice as long as you don't let it sit for more than a half an hour after the rice is done. Both the delay and the finish beeper are very useful features. That being said, the biggest complaint that I have with this cooker is that it is very difficult to fully clean. The steam spout and condensation catch are removeable and dishwasher safe but the lid does not come off like a traditional cooker's so you can't wash it in the dishwasher but instead you have to wipe it clean. The seal for the lid is poorly designed so it takes a while to get the gunk out of all the little grooves and creases. This is ok if you are using it only once in a blue moon, but for a person like me who uses it almost everyday, this can get very frustrating and very nasty if not properly cleaned after each use.
