Bought this aroma rice cooker for a trip we are planning. We need a rice cooker that is easy is use, not messy and small in size so it convenient for travel. This Aroma rice cooker is easy to use and cooks rice enough for family of 4 in 25 minutes or less. Rice does not stick to the pan due to non stick coating. The aluminium steamer is just ok in quality. Overall its a value for money.

I returned mine after about 4-5 uses. I had cooked both white and brown rice. I found it burned the rice, cooking took too long compared to another cooker i have used. I think i followed the instructions properly but they were a little weird "for white rice use the little plastic cup and lines inside the cooker, for brown rice use standard measuring cups"? If you don't cook a lot of rice i'd say its good for the price but we make a lot of rice so i'm going for something better quality.

I just purchased this today and used it for the first time, otheriwse I would rate higher in quality, but I assume it will hold up. If the price were much higher, I would probably expect better quality than the aluminum steamer basket. Not sure about others' concerns about assembly, you just dump the rice and water in the bowl and turn it on. There was no mess. Naturally when you lift the lid and tilt it, the condensation may drip on your counter. I did not experience any scorching, but I did remove the bowl from the unit very shortly after cooking was completed. I am not a HUGE fan of rice, so did not want to invest too much money, so for the price, I was very pleased with the unit. It was just what I was looking for.

Harder to use then expected..

This rice cooker was definitely much harder to put together and use then i had originally expected it to be, but once it was all figured out, it did make a pretty good batch of rice!

This product gets mixed reviews on this site. I cooked two batches of rice on two different days. I meticulously followed the directions that came with the appliance. The batch scorched and burned. I meticulously followed the directions that came on the packaging of the rice. The batch scorched and burned. You get what you pay for. Don't know the brand at all. Some units of this particular product may perform well, but the unit I purchased clearly had a temperature regulation issue. I can't ea t burned food, and I won't have yet another batch of rice scorched and burned in a cheap appliance.

I just purchased this item and have used it twice. The first time, when I made oatmeal, most of the water ended up on the counter in a puddle and the oatmeal burned. The second time, I made rice, and while the bulk of the water stayed in the pot, there was a mess all over the counter around the unit where sticky rice water had been blown out the steam vent. When done, the rice was dry and a bit burned on the bottom. I am taking this thing back. And yes - of course I followed the exact instruct ions for cooking. It's pretty straight forward - measure the rice, measure the water and plug in. It doesn't work!

This Thing is GARBAGE.

Received this rice cooker as a wedding present and we love it. I almost registered for a more expensive rice cooker, but this one is perfect. We cook brown rice in it quite often, and the rice turns out perfect every time. The cooker is also very easy to clean and doesn't take up a lot of space when storing it. We haven't used the steamer insert yet, but I still give it 5 stars. Would highly recommend to friends and family.

Let me start off by saying I would have given it 5 stars but I have yet to use the steamer basket yet. Secondly, the reviewers that gave it bad reviews....ptooey. I've cooked rice in it and it came out PERFECT. And I followed the directions! Tonight I made chili in it. I actually browned onion and 4 small cut up breakfast sausages in it on one cycle, stirring it about 10 mins into the cycle. Nice brown onions and fully cooked sausage. I then added 3 cans of beans, 2 chili beans and one kidney beans, drained, a can of Rotel tomatoes, undrained, a packet of taco seasoning, a hand full of cilantro and 2/3 c water as called for on the taco packet. Put it through a full cycle. No sticking, no boiling over, no mess and dinner in one pot. I actually found it on a shelf for [$] at my Target. Tonight I was regretting not getting one for my daughter since it's so versatile and not just for rice. It does soups I'm sure! And clean up is a breeze.
