The first bookshelf I ordered was in very bad shape upon arrival and had to be exchanged. The second was was slightly damaged, but we were able to hide the damage. In addition damage, it's slighty wobbly, but they have included wall anchors in the packaging to fix that issue. Once put together, it looks great and goes perfectly with our Avington desk. For just over [$], it's not a bad deal.

We bought this bookshelf two weeks ago. It looked great put together until we got to the back to put on the last pieces. The boards were cut wrong so they didnt fit together right. [...] They have them labled right but cut wrong! Now we are waiting for them to send us the board again to see if we get the right ones! This has been such a hassel! We will not be purchasing from this manufacture again.

Easy to assemble, and overall a great item. Love the number of shelves it has so it makes it a great way to display many items. Only negative I have is the price.

You get what you pay for - piece E, the bottom shelf, arrived broken. Same exact problem as described by numerous others. Judging by these other reviewers, it appears Target has known about this for a while and has not done a thing to correct it. Luckily I had a few finishing nails and some wood glue to put it back together - but I would not buy this cheap chinese made junk again.

We had a really narrow area on the side of our fireplace, and a custom built shelf was just out of the budget right now. We bought this shelf in the store, and there were no dings or broken boards when we took it out of the box. It looked to be packaged well. Fairly easy assembly, I would say it might be a two person job - getting the two sides together is sort of tricky to do by yourself. VERY sturdy. We were happy to find that the back isn't the normal paper-thin stuff that most bookshelves h ave...seemed to be actual wood. I still can't believe how sturdy this thing is - some shelves you have to secure it to the wall to keep it from falling over, but not this one! Beautiful stain, although it is more red-ish than I thought it would be.

Much nicer than the matching dresser. A little difficult to put together though. We have it in a small room so narrow and tall works well.

We have 2 of the Avington desks in our office, his and hers, and I really wanted 2 bookcases that matched. They came in less than a week, and we were able to assemble them both in less than 2 hours. I would definitely recommend a power drill to aid in the process, however. The directions were really easy to read, and we had all of the necessary pieces. One of the bookcases had a scratch in it, but we had a furniture pen in the matching color and now you can't even tell there was ever a scratch. They are a little shorter than standard bookcases, but I love that fact, as I am under 5 feet tall. My whole office looks super expensive now, but I know that I spent very little money at Target!
