1/2 GB is used for programs and 1GB reserved for books from Barnes and Noble so theres 1/2 GB for library books and books from other sources. Still 1/2GB is room for 1-200 books It has a microSD slot so you can add a lot more memory if you need it. More 'sell you new books' stuff than I like but the actual 'read books' capabilities haven't suffered.

An avid reader and I already have an iPod touch, iPhones, MacBook, Wii, and Mac so needed no other devices for games or surfing the web. The price for this was a steal-bought it when you got a gift card back. A lot of free books to download plus I can borrow e-books from my local library without having to drive to get or return and NO late fees. Easy to use and easy on the eyes. Lightweight. My bookshelves are full at home-less clutter with one little Nook that can hold thousands of books. Love it!

The Nook simple touch is all it is said to be and more.... It is easy to use, easy to read and when you are reading a 800 page book on the Nook versus carrying that same book you will realize how great digital books and the Nook are. Barnes and Noble has a huge selection of ebooks and when I combine that with being able to download ebooks from my local library I have access to more books that I would like to read than I could possibly read in a lifetime!!! To me, buying a reader from the nation s' leading bookseller just makes more sense than from a company that has so many other priorities besides reading.... As you can tell I am very happy with my purchase and would recommend the Nook to any and all.
