I had heard about this from my niece who has it for her kids and decided to get it for my kids. My kids absolutely loved it and enjoyed looking for him every morning.

I had never heard of the Elf, but a friend told me her kids were loving it, so I ordered one for my two great-nieces and my niece. The younger two couldn't get enough of the story - be prepared to read it every night! They loved looking for the elf every morning, and their parents enjoyed finding new places for the elf. Great fun for all involved, including this far-away aunt who enjoyed hearing how much fun they had with my gift.

This was such a great way to start a new tradition. My kids looked forward to finding their elf Cootie everyday. Can't wait for next year.

My daughter has always had fears of "things" at night. She has a lot of nightmares and this elf is no exception. We used it for 4 days and the 4th night before bed I had to tell the elf to "stay with Santa" and not come back this year as she was in tears before bed. The elf is also hard to position because it does not stay up well on a shelf unless it is a wide surface.

It is a very cute idea and the book is great. But for [$], I would expect the Elf to be able to sit on a shelf without having to put tape on it's bum...the Elf is cheaply made and falls over easily.
