Boots No 7 Shine Free Make-up Base - 1.3 fl oz. product details page

I've been using this for about a month because I found that the [...] matify as much as I wanted. The Boots primer is a little thick--not quite as thick as toothpaste, but sort of close--and it will sometimes flake if your skin is too dry. Like others have suggested, make sure you moisturize before applying this primer. It does a wonderful job of keeping my shine under control. To make it spread better and to make foundation application more even with no flakes, I moisturize beforehand an d mix this about 50-50 with my [...]. Works great this way and extends the life of my expensive primer!

I usually don't do product reviews, but I have felt compelled to review this product. I even waited until I had used it enough to be able to give an informed opinion. I had been looking for a primer to combat the oily nature that peeks though my foundation. I was inclined to purchase a much more expensive matte primer but was put off by the price time and time again. Then while browsing through my local Target I discovered this product for around [$$] bucks and thought for that price I woul d try it. I have used it for about 2 months now and love the results. My face doesn't get oily anymore even if I have on makeup all day. The one con would be the ashiness the primer leaves initially before the makeup is applied, but who cares that will all be covered. Overall, this product is great and I hope they never stop selling it.

I was given this primer to try out by a friend since she claims that it works for acne-prone, sensitive and oily skin like hers. Well unfortunately it didn't work for me. After using this for about a week, I had a new crop of acne all around my face and it itched like crazy. And on top of this, this primer didn't keep me matte for long and my makeup didn't last any longer with it. I had to trash it. But to be fair, I haven't found a primer (including Monistat chaffing gel) that doesn't break me out.

If you're looking for an inexpensive alternative to those high priced department store mattifiers, this is it! I found it a few years ago and my makeup goes on so smoothly and I stay shine free all day! I was so disappointed when Target stopped carrying in the stores, but relieved to find it online. I actually order two to three at a time so I have back ups and don't have to wait for a shipment to come in.

It feels more like suntan lotion going on...but this keeps my makeup in place wonderfully, doesn't cause breakouts and was recommended by a model. Great price too. So far, so good.

I started using this base to help my makeup fight the Houston humidity. You just need a little, spread it on lightly, and I rarely catch my skin looking oily at all. Love Boots products in general, and this one is no different.

I have dry skin but I'm oily around my nose (also the reddest) I've tried tons of products to get my make-up to stay in place around that area. I gave Boots a 3 because it actually help my make-up stay longer than other products, but after a couple hours, I was oily (and red) again. I know that nothing lasts, realistically all day, but I wish I could find something to last at least a half a day before I needed to reapply.

I have tried many oil mattifying products in the past and nothing has worked as well as this one. I have only used it for about a week, but saw a difference the first day. Glad I tried it. You can't beat the value!!!

this is indeed quite dry. you do need to moisturize just before, and work quickly. i pat it on and it seems to apply easier. also works great as an eyeshadow base.
