Before you go insulting the DIY installer reviews, maybe we should be more specific - the converters that come with the unit fit in the faucet in our house, perfectly. however, the larger of the two will not stay attached to the brita filter itself. Their own converter does not screw onto their own product. Converter and washer screwed in tightly to our sink, but the brita would not screw onto it enough to not blow off. Not sure if this is due to having only 2 threads to screw onto or that it's plastic. We took the converter off our faucet and tried to just screw it onto the brita to see if it even fit without trying to screw it on at an awkward angle. No, it pops off. Small converter doesn't, large converter does. You think you have it on there tight, but as soon as you move it or pull it in the least it pops right out. Design flaw on the large converter on Brita's part. Returning.

Love it

I use to have the PUR filter and it was hard for me to change the filters. This one is so easy to change. And NO flipping the filter, just slide the little button to filtered water. GREAT!

I bought this to replace my SECOND Pur faucet filter and have been using it for several weeks now. It is designed and built better than the Purs...both of mine mechanically broke off the faucet within a year of use due to the poor plastic threads and rotation necessary for operation. The Brita has no such problem as a 3 position switch lets you choose: aerated water, full flow water and filtered water. It is more compact than the Pur and the filter changing is much easier as the Chrome top is a ctually the entire filter and there is no internal cartridge to change. The filters seem to be a couple of bucks more expensive since there are no bulk packages available. That is the only downside I can see. Quite happy with the purchase and the quality of the filtered water & taste.

I attached the filter per the instructions but it fell off of the faucet constantly. I eventually took it back and purchased the Pur brand which has been much better.

Cheap plastic housing; sealing problems to faucet

I was lured in to buying this because there was chrome in the display. Unfortunately, the Brita housing that fits (horribly, if you have a decorator style kitchen faucet like I do) to the actual faucet is made of cheap, gray plastic. And isn't plastic one of the things we're supposed to be worried about these days? BPEs, recycling numbers, etc, and the Brita filter housing is ALL CHEAP PLASTIC! I tried in vain to wrench the whole thing tightly to the faucet, only to have it explode off twice. E ven worse, because Brita used cheap plastic instead of stainless steel, the mild torque I used (it never did completely seal) caused the cheap plastic to crack rendering the whole housing unusable.

BRITA says their filter will last between three and six months, but what they neglect to inform you is that the plastic couplings are highly likely to crack after one, rendering the leaky product completely un-usable.

Have had mine for well over 12 months and not once have I had any incident of leakage, spray or malfunction whatsoever. Always be skeptical of consumer reviews where the product installation involved is a DIY-er. As the instructions state, the filter is compatible with MOST standard faucets right out of the box. Some may require an adaptor which should be included or could be found at your local hardware store (not a big deal!). The filters last about 3 months, depending on how many bottles we' re refilling to put in the fridge. It is clear in the taste when it's time to change the filter.

I bought the Brita faucet filter hoping that I would have a convenient way of filtering tap water. The price was low, and included a rebate, making it even better. After about 3 months I replaced the filter, thought that was great, it seems like it was long lasting. Shortly there after the filter started leaking, at the faucet attachment. Soon it began spraying water all over the place. I would not recommend this filter. Think I'll try the Pur next.
