I am very thrilled with my new bookcase. I am impressed with the quality considering the price and [..] shipping. I did take me an hour to assemble though but it was partly because they included a lot of hardware which makes this product very well put together. The instructions were easy to read and all the parts were clearly labeled and the hardware was separated into the steps that they belong to. Pretty cool. I am probably going to order another one.
This bookcase was a great value and looks amazing once fully assembled. I ordered 2 of them and both came with a couple dents in the boxes from UPS. Luckily none of the wood was damaged.
These were easy to assemble and went together in about 45 minutes each. If you assemble them on a large work surface such as a table or a bed like I did it should be easy for the average person to handle alone. I didn't need a hammer as recommended as most of the dowels were slightly smaller than needed.
It's
not mentioned but all the pieces that are unfinished face to the rear of the bookcase. I know this is complete common sense but someone might easily miss that fact.
This bookcase takes a little time to assemble - unless you have expensive tools to get the screws in fast - but it's worth every penny and then some. Beautiful, dark wood color, elegant lines and fairly heavy. It's a wonderful addition to my study.
We looked at this bookcase at the store and loved the dark brown color. The thick lip on each shelf makes the entire piece look nicer than a typical self-assembled bookcase. Each shelf is quite sturdy and able to hold very heavy books--I don't recall the weight limit on each shelf but it's higher than others we looked at. Assembly was easy. You will be very happy with this purchase.
I checked these book shelves out at Target before purchasing online. In the store, they were called "Home Collection", but I confirmed with a Target team member that it was indeed the same as "Carson" collection online. I am very happy with these in my house. They look just as good as I remember in the store, and I am considering purchasing a third bookcase. I was VERY impressed with the packaging and organization of the parts for assembly, which were compartmentalized by st
ep. I was able to assemble the book shelves by myself without any power tools, too. My only criticism on the assembly was that sometimes it was confusing which orientation the parts needed to be (compared to assembly of something else purchased from Target which showed finished vs. unfinished edges in the pictures).
I recently purchased 3 of the 3-Shelf Bookcases and am very impressed with their overall appearance. Puting these shelves together while a bit time consuming was simple enough following the instructions. Instructions were clear and precise and once the first shelf was together it made puting the others together a snap! These shelves look very nice in my living room and are sturdy enough to hold all of my books. I highly recommend them!
This turned out to be a very sturdy, nice looking piece of furniture. If I didn't know it was a Target purchase, I'd have assumed it came from a more high-end collection. The espresso is a rich dark brown with black tones. Took me about an hour to assemble. Each piece is individually labelled and the hardware necessary for each step is separated in the packaging -- very thoughtfully done. I thought the instructions were pretty clear... basically you're just following the assembly pictures. Line
up the piece you're working on in the exact orientation you see in the illustrations and you should be fine. Everything comes together pretty quickly, the only reason it took me an hour was because the backing piece has 24 little screws that don't fit into pre-drilled holes. I didn't have a power screwdriver or even a ratcheting screwdriver... so the buggers took me a little extra time. I'm extremely pleased with this bookcase. We bought two and might go back for a third.
